THIS Guy May Take Over as White House Communications Director

The revolving employment door at the Trump White House continues to revolve.

In the past few weeks, Sean Spicer, Reince Priebus, and Anthony Scaramucci have all left, through resignation or firing. Emphasis on the latter.

With Scaramucci’s exit, the important position of White House Communications Director was left open. The Trump administration as a whole has had, uh, quite a few issues with communication, so a capable, effective director is a must.

On Saturday, it was reported that Stephen Miller, Jim Acosta’s recent sparring partner, is being considered to replace The Mooch.

Axios reports:

Stephen Miller, the Trump senior policy adviser who just tangled on-camera with CNN’s Jim Acosta, is under consideration for White House communications director, top Trump sources tell me.

Miller is proudly hardline nationalist, and a favorite of the Trump faithful:

As a top aide to then-Sen. Jeff Sessions, Miller was a central player in ginning up opposition to the “Gang of 8” bipartisan effort at immigration reform.

He has a “Rainman” ability to recall immigration statistics.

When Miller worked in Sessions’ office, he was effectively an adjunct of the Breitbart editorial team. He’d work closely with Julia Hahn — then Breitbart’s immigration reporter, and now a White House colleague — on stories favoring nationalist immigration positions. A former colleague of Hahn’s said Miller “mentored” Hahn.

Miller was famous for bugging reporters at all hours with his story pitches, and seemingly had a direct line to Matt Drudge. The running joke was that the Sessions office had a permanent lease on at least one of the prized top-left Drudge links.

Miller certainly has a fiery personality, so one can see how President Trump, who possesses a similar persona, would take a liking to the young policy advisor’s style. Miller is neither the only one in the running nor the top name on the list, according to Axios and their Trump sources. As Bill Kristol pointed out on Twitter, Miller is also not unfamiliar with being in a communications position.

We shall see who the final choice is for the open position. And by final, I mean final for a while. . . until they possibly are fired resign after some dramatic episode. After all, that seems to be the rule – not the exception – for this White House. If it is Miller, expect more spicy exchanges in the future in the press briefing room. I wonder if Acosta will be healed up by then?
