US-Russian Tensions Grow In Deir Ezzor Province

Satellite images of the US military and its Allies from the Syrian Democratic Forces S.D.F freely travelling in the Isis-held areas of the Deir ezzor Governorate… The Russian Ministry of Defence claimed US allow S.D.F to pass through Isis positions West to Deir ezzor without fights… _. «Without resistance from the so-called Islamic state militants the Syrian Democratic Forces troops are moving along the left bank of Euphrates River towards the Town of Deir ezzor» the statement from the Russian Ministry of Defence read… _. «There are not even signs of Isis organization of a battle outpost» added… The images above show US Armored vehicles and equipment in this US-held part of Deir ezzor between the dates of September 8-12… The Syrian and Russian military commands have accused the US and it Allies of land grabbing in the Deir ezzor Governorate, while not actually fighting the Isis forces… Most recently the Syrian Democratic Forces took control of the Taybeh Gad plant along the Eastern bank of Euphrates… However recent photos reveal that the site was fully intact, unlike most structures the Isis abandons… The US coalition had not commented on these accusations by the Russian military…

US Forces Operating Freely in ISIS Areas As Shown In Russian Satellite Images! US Special Operations Forces (SOF) units enable US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) units to smoothly advance through the ISIS formations. Facing no resistance of the ISIS militants, the SDF units are advancing along the left shore of the Euphrates towards Deir ez Zor. The aerial photos made on September 8-12 over the ISIS locations recorded a large number of American Hummer vehicles, which are in service with the America’s SOF. The shots clearly show the US SOF units located at strongholds that had been equipped by the ISIS terrorists. Though there is no evidence of assault, struggle or any US-led coalition airstrikes to drive out the militants. Despite that the US strongholds being located in the ISIS areas, no screening patrol has been organized at them. This suggests that the US troops feel safe in terrorist controlled regions.

As tensions rise between Russia and the United States over the latter’s consistent support for terrorists inside Syria and increased support for Kurdish militias in the North, Russia is now exposing the U.S. support for Daesh and the level to which the U.S. is using Kurdish fighters as proxy forces against both Syria and Russia. Russia is also exposing the American cooperation with Daesh to that end.

Last week, the Russian Defense Ministry accused U.S. intelligence agencies of engaging in a sabotage attempt against the Syrian military and Russian initiative to retake Deir ez-Zour by initiating, encouraging, and directing an offensive in northwestern Syria by jihadist forces against the Syrian military. The Russian MOD claims that the point of the offensive was to draw attention and focus away from the SAA operations in Deir ez-Zour.

The Ministry stated that 29 Russian military policemen were surrounded by jihadists, forcing the military to break them out via Special Ops backed by air power.

“According to our information, U.S. intelligence services initiated the offensive to halt the successful advance of government troops to the east of Deir al-Zor,” said Colonel-General Sergei Rudskoi.

In addition, the Defense ministry asserted that the U.S., via its SDF terrorist proxies, attempted to sabotage the SAA crossing of the Euphrates.

The MOD stated that, just as the Syrian military began crossing the river, the waters immediately began rising, suggesting that this could only have happened if the dams upstream which were being held by the SDF had been opened.

Likewise, Russian Defense Ministry Spokesman, Igor Konashenkov, pointed out the cooperation between the SDF and Daesh. As Press TV reported,

Konashenkov said Russia suspects the SDF is colluding with Daesh in Dayr al-Zawr rather than fighting it, citing the transfer of Takfiri elements from Raqqah to join forces against the advancing Syrian troops.

“SDF militants work to the same objectives as Daesh terrorists. Russian drones and intelligence have not recorded any confrontations between Daesh and the ‘third force,’ the SDF,” he said.

It is thus relevant to point out that the United States is providing heavy assistance to the forces working with Daesh, making the U.S., at best, an indirect accomplice with Daesh.

Obviously, the liberation of Deir ez-Zour presents a major obstacle for the U.S. and the anti-Syria coalition in terms of its goals to break the Syrian government and establish a Kurdistan in the north and a Wahhabistan in the east. The complete liberation of Deir ez-Zour will likely result in the end of ISIS in Syria in a matter of weeks. After that, attention will turn to America’s “moderate” terrorists and Kurdish fanatics. In the meantime, it appears that the U.S. is using whatever means available to it with the exception of unlimited direct military conflict with the Syrian and Russian militaries.

A high-ranking commander of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units says pro-government troops do not need permission from anyone to dislodge Daesh terrorists from anywhere in the country including the town of Hawijah. Speaking to Press TV in an exclusive interview, Hadi al-Ameri said the Iraqi Joint Operations Command had demanded that Peshmerga commanders cooperate with both government forces and the P-M-U to liberate Hawijah. He, however, added that Kurdish troops were yet to comply with the demand. The commander said the town would soon be fully liberated from Deash. On Thursday, the Iraqi government announced the launch of a new offensive to purge the terrorists from Hawijah in the oil-rich province of Kirkuk. The town is one of the last pieces of land in Iraq that is still under the control of the takfiri group.

Iraqi Gov’t Starts Measures against Referendum in Kurdistan Region

A senior Iraqi official announced that the government has adopted a number of introductory measures in reaction to the holding of the independence referendum in the Kurdistan region.

The official who called for anonymity told the Arabic-language Asia new channel that necessary coordination has been made with the relevant countries to stop cooperation with the Kurdistan region, specially at airports, air transition, and in oil exports, and reroute all their cooperation to the central government.

“The countries have agreed and taken early steps in this regard,” he added.

The official said that the employees who have played a role in the referendum will also be prosecuted.

Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) announced on Sunday that it has closed its airspace to all flights to and from the Iraqi Kurdistan region at the demand of the Baghdad government.

“All Iranian flights to Soleimaniyeh and Erbil as well as flights from the Iraqi Kurdistan region passing through the Iranian airspace came to a halt at the demand of Iraq’s central government,” SNSC Spokesman Keivan Khosravi said.

He said that the decision was taken after the failure of Iran’s good-will political efforts to convince the Iraqi Kurdistan region’s officials not to hold an independence referendum.

Khosravi added that the hasty decision by some Kurdistan region officials will limit the Kurds’ power as an actor and in constructive talks and will create serious challenges for Iraq’s sovereignty and the security of the Kurdish people, Iraq and the region.

The referendum was held on Monday in defiance of the central government in Baghdad, which says the referendum is unconstitutional and which has called on the Kurdish leadership to drop the plan.

Iran, Iraq, and Turkey have jointly voiced concerns about the Kurdish independence vote, warning that it could fan the flames of tensions in the Middle East.

The UN Security Council also unanimously issued a statement on Thursday voicing alarm over “the potentially destabilizing impact” of the plebiscite. The 15-member council urged “dialogue and compromise” to address the differences between Baghdad and the Kurdish authorities.
