The IRAM missile launcher nicknamed the Golan-300 by troops using it, has been put into service by the Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Mechanized Division, as the latter prepares to squeeze the East Ghouta pocket into submission through deadly close-range “Elephant” missiles… The type of mobile Artillery piece is capable of launching twelve large missiles towards hostile positions in less than a minute and prove vital for further counter-insurgency operations in East Ghouta… The 4th Mechanized Division is considered the most seasoned branch of the Syrian Arab Army, and has singlehandedly eliminated a dozen opposition pockets in and around Damascus since 2012… Since the beginning of the conflict the 4th Mechanized Division has been deployed exclusively in Damascus to safeguard the Syrian capital… In 2017 however, the 4th Division has been split up with elements serving in Deir ezzor, Hama, Rif Dimasqh, and East Ghouta all at once…

Syria in Past 24 Hours

The Syrian Army troops managed to advance against the Al-Nusra Front (Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at or the Levant Liberation Board) and seized control over several regions in Southwestern Damascus, closing off the supply lines to the key base of the terrorists on Wednesday.

Damascus

The army units drove the Al-Nusra out of Tal (hill) Halaf Shour close to the villages of Beit Saber and Beit Timan and Tal al-Maqla’a West of the village Kafr Hoor in Southwestern Damascus.

A number of terrorists were killed or wounded and the remaining pockets of them fled the battlefield in the attack.

A military source, meantime, said that the roads connecting the villages of Beit Saber and Beit Tima to Beit Jinn were cut off after the army gained control over the strategic hills overlooking Sahal Hineh region and the villages of Kafr Hoor and Beit Tima.

Also in the past 24 hours, the Syrian army troops stormed the positions of two main terrorist groups in Eastern Ghouta and pushed them back from more lands, killing a senior militant commander, field sources confirmed.

The sources said that the army men engaged in fierce clashes with Ahrar al-Sham and Faylaq al-Rahman in Vehicles Management Region in the town of Harasta in several flanks and inflicted major losses on the terrorists, retaking control over a number of regions.

A number of terrorists, including notorious field Commander Saleh Antar, were killed in the clashes, the sources added.

The army soldiers imposed full control over lost the positions in the Vehicles Management Region in Harasta after their recent advances in the region.

Also on Wednesday, the Syrian Army soldiers engaged in fierce clashes with Al-Nusra Front in Southwestern Damascus, and imposed control over a strategic region, an Arab media outlet reported.

The Arabic-language al-Ahd news website reported that Al-Nusra terrorists deployed in the village of Kafr Hoor stopped talks between the region’s residents and the army to hand over militants’ positions to the government forces.

In the meantime, the army units targeted terrorists’ positions on the hills between Kafar Hoor and the town of Hineh after failure of reconciliation talks in the region, al-Ahd further added.

The army men took control over the Kafr Hoor and Tal (hill) Sawadi 2 and 3 Southwest of Kafr Hoor.

The army’s control over Kafr Hoor and its nearby hills has made the government forces capable of overlooking the strategic Bard’aya hill that is center of the terrorists on the slopes of Jabal (mount) al-Sheikh and especially Beit Jinn region and its farms and Moqir al-Mir.

Aleppo

The Syrian Army men hit the positions of the Al-Nusra Front in Southeastern Aleppo, pushing the terrorists back from a village and a key height on Wednesday.

The army soldiers stormed Al-Nusra strongholds from several direction and managed to capture the village of Jubb Awaz and Tal (hill) al-Sheikh Mohammad in Southeastern Aleppo.

The Al-Nusra suffered tens of casualties and its military equipment sustained major damage in the attacks.

An Arab media outlet reported on Wednesday that the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have excavated several historical regions in Aleppo province and have transferred a number of artifacts to a US-run base in the Northern part of the province.

The Arabic-language al-Watan online quoted well-informed sources as reporting that the SDF started to dig in several regions close to the town of Manbij in Northeastern Aleppo.

It went on to say that the SDF’s excavation operation was carried out mainly near the al-Feran al-Ehti’yati (the reserve furnace) region in the town of Manbij, adding that the SDF did not allow any civilians to enter or ever approach the excavation sites.

Al-Watan further said that a large ancient inscription on stone was unearthed in excavation operation, adding that the SDF later transferred the inscription stone by several trucks to a US-run base near the small town of Tharin close to Manbij.

Hama

The ISIL terrorist group once again struck the positions of their rivals, the Al-Nusra Front in Northeastern Hama and captured three more villages on Wednesday.

The ISIL drove the Al-Nusra terrorists out of the villages of Abu Marwah, Abu Khandeq al-Qabli and Sarouj in Northeastern Hama.

The dissident-affiliated websites reported on Tuesday that ISIL clashed with Al-Nusra in al-Sa’an region in Northeastern Hama and pushed them back from the villages of Talihan, Ma’asaran, Abu Hariq and Abu al-Kasour.

A military source confirmed on Wednesday that the Syrian Army forwarded a large number of fresh soldiers to Northeastern Hama, adding that a group of terrorists joined the Al-Nusra Front to slow down army advances.

The source said that the army has sent a large number of fresh forces, including elite fighters, to accelerate its advances against the Al-Nusra terrorists.

In the meantime, militant-affiliated websites reported that the Turkistan party terrorist group joined the Al-Nusra to fight against the army soldiers in Northeastern Hama.

Field sources reported that the pro-government forces engaged in fierce clashes with terrorists North of Sarha region close to the village of al-Mastariheh in al-Sa’an region.

Deir Ezzur

The Syrian Army troops stormed ISIL’s strongholds in Southeastern Deir Ezzur and advanced 40 km along the road connecting the town of al-Mayadeen to the town of Albu Kamal on Wednesday, seizing control over several towns and villages.

The army soldiers drove ISIL out of the towns and villages of Zahr al-Nasrani, Sheikh Ali, Wadi al-Khour, Fezeh Ahmad al-Hayfan, Wadi Faliteh and Wadi al-Seil, advancing 40 km along al-Mayadeen-Albu Kamal road in Southeastern Deir Ezzur.

The army men also pushed ISIL back from the regions of Araz Talhat Malham, Wadi al-Abyaz, Wadi Oweina, Wadi al-Ward, Tal Malham and Sha’ab Kha’an en route to Albu Kamal.

A military source reported that the army men are just 25 km away from areas where their comrades are stationed in the village of al-Ashayer North of Albu Kamal.

Also on Wednesday, the Syrian Army units launched simultaneous operations in two different flanks to complete the siege on ISIL terrorists in Eastern Deir Ezzur, a field source reported.

The source said that the army men are attacking ISIL’s positions in two flanks from the Southern direction of the town of al-Mayadeen towards the town of Albu Kamal and from Albu Kamal towards al-Mayadeen to pave the ground for laying siege on the terrorists in Eastern Deir Ezzur.

The army men stormed ISIL’s position near the two small towns of Ashayer and al-Qabra North of Albu Kamal, capturing several positions, the source said, adding that the army soldiers will have only 20 km to the positions of the pro-government forces that are en route towards Albu Kamal from al-Mayadeen if they capture Ashayer and al-Qabra completely.

If the army men capture this 20-kilometer-long chunk, the siege on ISIL will be completed in Eastern Deir Ezzur.

Idlib

The Turkish Army dispatched a long convoy of military vehicles to Idlib province to utilize them in a possible war against the Kurdish fighters, local sources confirmed on Wednesday.

The sources reported that a long Turkish Army convoy entered Idlib province from Hatay.

In the meantime, the opposition media outlets reported that the Turkish military convoy established a 3rd observation post in al-Aqil Mountain near the Anadan Plain in Western Aleppo.

According to reports, the Turkish Army has now positioned themselves at two separate areas near the Kurdish-controlled Afrin Canton in Northwestern Aleppo.
