Sandra Bullock Will Play Abortion Barbie in the Most Unnecessary Biopic in Human History

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry over this one. On one hand it’s hilarious that the left thinks the story of Texas State Senator Wendy Davis is worthy of a film. On the other, it’s sad to see an actress, whose work I normally tend to enjoy, take part in a self-indulgent hagiographical “Abortion Barbie.”

Sandra Bullock will star in the spec “Let Her Speak” as Texas senator Wendy Davis, whose 11-hour filibuster helped stall an anti-abortion bill in the Texas state house.

Todd Black and Jason Blumenthal are on board to produce through their Escape Artists banner.

At the time, Davis was a little known Democratic senator who soon became a national icon on the subject of abortion after filibustering for 11 hours in order to stall a bill, and ultimately delaying its passage beyond the midnight deadline for the end of the legislative session. The bill would have included more restrictive abortion regulations for Texas and would have closed all abortion clinics in the state.

Wendy Davis as you may recall made a lot of news by filibustering a bill that would do horrible things like prevent the abortion of late term babies, require abortionists to have hospital admitting privileges, and generally require the abortion industry to adhere to the same standards other surgical medical facilities are required to meet. Wendy Davis opposed this bill in order to protect women’s health without any cognitive dissonance whatsoever.

All her filibuster did was delay the passage of the bill until the next session of the Texas General Assembly.

Still, Davis parlayed her 15 minutes (or 11 hours) of fame into a 2014 run for the Texas Governor’s office. She was beaten like a rented mule by current Texas Governor Greg Abbott. Abbott defeated Davis by nearly 20 points.

Davis is a political failure by any measure.

The script for the movie Let Her Speak was written by Mark Correa who you may know from…not much really. My guess is Mark really wants an Oscar nomination or he really wants to impress his liberal girlfriend.

The leftist elites in Hollywood will most assuredly gush over a film whose heroine bravely defends the baby murder industry from the uncivilized and ignorant hayseeds of Texas. They’ll gush over the idea anyway.

Chances are even they won’t actually watch it.
