They Just Banned All Muslim Refugees… This Is Huge

The news is filled with the problems open borders and unvetted immigration can bring and much of Europe is suffering as a result of those decisions. Some cities are trying to combat the dangerous immigration policies enforced upon them by the European Union. 

For example, one eastern German city has recently imposed a ban on all new refugees in an effort to reduce violent crime after a recent surge of violence by refugees against the local citizenry caused significant damage to both person and property. Last year the towns of Salzgitter, Delmenhorst, and Wilhelmshaven in the northern state of Lower Saxony imposed a similar ban.

Cottbus is approximately 75 miles or 120 kilometers southeast of Berlin.  It is known as a small university town with a population of just over 100,000.  Since German Chancellor Angela Merkel threw down the welcome mat for all refugees and lit up the vacancy signs beginning in 2015 some 3,000 asylum seekers have flocked to the area causing untold violence and turmoil.

The city has been inundated with violence from refugees and failed asylum seekers for the last several weeks with no end in sight. Just recently the Brandenburg State Police reported the arrest of two male teenagers of Syrian origin because they knifed a German teenager in the face with a knife. The 16-year-old German teen sustained non-life threatening lacerations to the face after the altercation occurred after school near a tram station.

This incident followed just days after a group of three teenaged asylum seekers also of Syrian origin ranging in ages of 14, 15, and 17 brutally and viciously attacking a man and his wife just outside a shopping center. The 16-year-old-refugee and his father had both previously received a “negative residency permit” by German authorities.  This “negative residency permit” effectively orders them to leave the city immediately and grants them no sanctuary within the city limits.

The violence coupled with a sluggish economy and a rampant and uncontrolled influx of refugees into the city have fueled a significant anti-immigrant sentiment, sometimes to an extreme degree.

In addition to violence, The Gatestone Institute details news from a variety of German sources showing case after case of German citizens being evicted from their own homes and private property. Those same homes and properties are then being confiscated by the government to house so-called “Syrian refugees” flooding into the country while Angela Merkel lays down the Welcome Mat. For anyone that knows their history? This should be downright frightening.

In an unprecedented move, Hamburg authorities confiscated six residential units in the Hamm district near the city center. A trustee appointed by the city is now renovating the properties and will rent them — against the will of the owner — to tenants chosen by the city. District spokeswoman Sorina Weiland said that all renovation costs will be billed to the owner of the properties.
