White House Goes Full Venezuela On 5G Internet. Ajit Pai says Nope
The Trump White House floated a trial balloon to nationalize the Internet. FCC Chairman Ajit Pai is having none of that.

Axios got the story of the White House’s far leftist plans for the Internet: The government pays for and builds a new network, with the stated reason that it’s the way China is going to do it. Don’t believe me? They’ve got the actual powerpoint.
They claim “We are losing,” and that the only way to win is for government to take over private industry. This is absurd of course. Socialism – state control of the industries – failed everywhere it was tried. If we emulate Venezuela on this, it’s sure to end in disaster.
But thank goodness for Ajit Pai. “I oppose any proposal for the federal government to build and operate a nationwide 5G network,” he said. There’s nothing good in this proposal, and I support Ajit Pai as he takes on big government plans from Republicans (5G nationalization) and Democrats (Title II Reclassification).
Pai is one of the best friends of liberty in Washington today.
