Putin's Gauntlet Thrown to Jews

Enigmatic Russian President Vladimir Putin has again put a shot across the bows of worldwide Jewry by praising the work of a writer outspokenly critical of Jews.

Russia’s popular leader has a habit of sending subliminal messages that challenge Jewish authority. In 2017, President Putin inspired the replacement of a publicly funded memorial to one of Russia’s most celebrated antagonists of Jewish power. Putin’s restoration of the Moscow memorial marked the assassination of Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovich in 1905.

The Grand Duke, the brother of Emperor Alexander III, was a vociferous opponent of Jewish ambitions. Like Jesus Christ and others, including Adolf Hitler, in 1891 he cleared abusive Jewish moneylenders from Russia’s financial guilds; Adolf Hitler followed the Grand Duke’s example in 1933.

The Bolsheviks exacted their revenge when, after earlier attempts on the lives of the Grand Duke, the Jewish Socialist Revolutionary Party finally assassinated the ‘anti-Semitic’ Grand Duke.  That this martyrdom was marked by President Putin was carefully noted.

Putin praised the “social, literary and journalistic activities” of the editor of Russia’s most ultra-nationalist newspaper. Editor, nationalist journalist and writer Alexander Prokhanov repeatedly Then, on February 26, 2018, President denounces Russia’s Jewish community.

Putin, who is guaranteed to win a fourth Kremlin term in the presidential election, next month, sent the writer a personal telegram to congratulate the staunch ethno-nationalist on his 80th birthday.

“You have taken a great professional path; you have found your calling in your columns and in your social, literary and journalistic activities.”

The president went on to say: “You have always remained committed to your civic principles and ideals. I wish you good health and hope that your plans will be realised.”

Prokhanov is the editor-in-chief of the far-right newspaper Zavtra (Tomorrow), which he founded in 1993. The writer’s works are taboo in the West. In 2014, Prokhanov accused Jews who supported anti-Russian protestors in Ukraine as ‘hastening the second holocaust with the backing of their Western reformers.’

Echoing the findings of Western ethnic-European dissidents, a Jewish character in Prokanhov’s best-selling novel Mr. Hexogen (banned by Amazon) said:

“Russian Jews were planning to take the blood and organs of healthy Russians and to then sell them to medical centres in Israel.”
