WATCH: Uh-oh, Trump’s Out to Punish California Again

President Trump’s upping the ante in his pissing match with California’s degenerate leaders.

Trump said:

“Frankly, if I wanted to pull our people from California, you’d have a crime nest like you’d never seen in California. All I’d have to do is say, ‘ICE and Border Patrol, leave California alone.’ You would be inundated – you would see crime like nobody’s ever seen crime in this country.

And yet we get no help from the state of California. They’re doing a lousy management job, they have the highest taxes in the nation and they don’t know what’s happening out there.

Frankly, it’s a disgrace, the sanctuary city situation, the protection of these horrible criminals…if we ever said, ‘Hey, let California alone, let them figure it out for themselves,’ in two months they’d be begging for us to come back, they would be begging. And you know what, I’m thinking about doing it.“

As a California resident and mom of a high-school age son, I have a response to the President.

Yes, California’s leaders are doing a lousy management job, and the sanctuary city situation is horrible. Instead of speaking out of your a**, though, Trump, perhaps you can do more to enforce federal laws in California instead of just blustering?

How about leasing space right across from the LA County Jail and the San Francisco jail and just picking people up? ICE has the technology to know who’s in the jails, and they know who their high value targets are. Just set up visible offices right there and have a staring contest with the people with whom you’re really battling.

Immediately before these comments you were talking about the safety of our families and what a scourge MS-13 is. At the State of the Union speech, you highlighted the victims of illegal alien crime and the shattered dreams of American families. The people of California are more at-risk than the people of any other state. Yet because you don’t like their leaders, you threaten to abandon your responsibility to the people there?

You’ve already put part of your own party’s Congressional at risk of losing their seats because of your childish insistence on punishing California and other blue states in the tax cut. Now you threaten to remove one of the few lines of defense California’s families have against this all-out assault on their way of life and the rule of law because you don’t like being dissed?

When the idiots who run this state say that you’re an impulsive, childish, petty, vindictive man, then you say these types of things, well, we can’t disagree with them.

Speaking of those idiots, you might think it’s a punishment to people like Kevin DeLeon, Gavin Newsom, Jerry Brown, or Kamala Harris for you to do something like this, or that they will suffer politically. They won’t. They’ll have their armed guards and gated homes, while the regular people in California, especially the legal immigrant communities, will be at higher risk because you threaten to issue dictates to federal agencies and selectively enforce the law based on your political preferences. (You know who else did that? Obama, by weaponizing the IRS and DOJ.)

In addition, you’re alienating people you could be bringing into the fold. Yes, “only” 31.5 percent of Californians voted for you. But, because of our state’s politics and because of the time zone effect, I’d bet there are more who would have voted for you if they felt it would make a difference. With the way liberals have completely lost their minds since your inauguration, some Californians have decided to support you, like one of my Twitter friends.

There’s an anti-Sanctuary state movement, Fight Sanctuary State, gaining speed, with bi-partisan support. Mr. President, you have a golden opportunity here. Stand up for California’s law-abiding people when their own government won’t. Assure them that whatever the federal government can do to enforce the law and remove dangerous illegal alien criminals from the streets, it will do.
