Fox News’ Judge Napolitano Explains McCabe Firing Could Be Obstruction

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Well, color me shocked, but using words like “vindictive” and “reckless,” Fox News contributor Judge Andrew Napolitano has weighed in on the firing of Andrew McCabe and he sees trouble ahead.

Napolitano used those words to describe the firing, while appearing on Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom” with Chris Hemmer.

“Andrew McCabe is more likely than not to be a witness against the Attorney General’s boss, the president of the United States,” Napolitano said. “I think that firing him in that environment could very well be determined to diminish his effectiveness as a witness. What’s that called? Obstruction of justice.”

“I don’t know if Bob Mueller wants to go there, but that’s the argument,” he added.

And McCabe agrees with him. After his unceremonious firing on Friday night, two days short of his 50th birthday, and his full retirement, he was McCabe unchained – lashing out and suggesting that the firing was an effort to thwart Robert Mueller’s probe into Russian interference in the 2016 election, since he was likely to be a witness.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions said that it was because McCabe had made an unauthorized disclosure to the media and wasn’t completely honest about it to investigators.

McCabe says that he wasn’t given time to make his case of innocence.

Judge Napolitano went on and discussed the boneheaded moves of Trump’s lawyers over the weekend, as well.

Specifically, he mentioned John Dowd.

“Going on television, saying, ‘I pray that you shut down shop,’ is not the way a lawyer for an innocent defendant conveys the message on TV,” Napolitano said.

Rep. Trey Gowdy expressed a similar sentiment over the weekend.

Dowd had responded to a request for a story from the Daily Beast, saying that it was time to shut down Mueller’s probe, and that he was speaking on behalf of the president.

He later walked that back, saying he was only speaking for himself.
