New Book Explores Troubles Trump Has With His Son-in-Law (“He looks Like a Child”)

The new book by Ronald Kessler, “The Trump White House: Changing the Rules of the Game” was released on Monday. Kessler spoke to President Trump, himself, as well as members of the Trump family, and past and present administration officials, in order to gather anecdotes for what is one more in a series of Trump White House books.

So we know Trump is a petty individual, prone to cut people down to their faces and behind their backs. Are family members exempt?

No.

According to Kessler’s book, Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner became the target of his snark, as he gave a public address back in July 2017.

“‘Look at Jared, he looks like a little boy, like a child,’ Trump remarked to aides as he watched Kushner on TV speaking to the press,” Kessler wrote.

I’m sure he’s not the manly-man he envisioned for his favorite child.

Kessler wrote that Trump did not want Kushner or Ivanka Trump to join him in Washington and that “Trump even admitted to aides that Jared and Ivanka had screwed up and that he understands that they are a problem.”

Then why are they there?

The answer may be found in the oversized influence this pair of Manhattan liberals have over the elderly Trump.

Kessler goes on to tell of then-White House chief strategist Steve Bannon’s views on Kushner and Ivanka.

“They’re nice people, but they don’t know anything,” Bannon said. “If their name wasn’t Trump, they would be midlevel marketing managers somewhere.”

Bannon said the couple is “so opposed to [Trump’s] program that they’re there to destroy him.”

That may have been a bit over the top.

Ivanka is there to push liberal policies and Kushner is there to use his proximity to the president as incentive for foreign investors to save his family’s failing business.

At least, that’s how it appears.

The book said Kushner believed incorrectly that Democrats would welcome the firing of FBI Director James Comey, and quotes Bannon saying, “Jared represented a lethal combination of arrogance and incompetence that ends administrations.”

Well, he’s not wrong.

Speaking of wrong, guess whose idea it was to hire Anthony Scaramucci.

Ivanka’s.

Ivanka felt the Mooch would be a solid choice for communications director.

Scaramucci lasted a total of 10 days before getting bounced. He’d given a profane interview (saying later that he felt it was off the record), insulting Bannon and then-White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus during his tirade.

The excessive turnover rate in the Trump White House should now be measured in Scaramuccis.

So why did Ivanka want the Mooch as part of the administration?

She allegedly said Scaramucci should be hired because, “We need good press coverage for Jared. Nobody in the press office is supporting Jared.’”

Aw.

Well, how about now? The boy is so deep in scandal, he could very likely end up in the web of Robert Mueller’s investigation, very soon, and the word is, Trump would prefer he take his daughter and go back to holding fundraisers for liberal candidates in Manhattan.

Kessler has pointed out that his work, including his interviews with Steve Bannon, were before Michael Wolff released his book of dubious veracity, “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House.”
