Which means wages are still far below the cost of living, which drives the economy and wages further down.
Because when people don’t have money to spend they either don’t spend it or the run up massive credit until the piper wants paid then they are left with no other options but to file bankruptcy.
And of course, when wages are low and people quit spending money, stores lay off and/or close and even more peoples wages dive, and they spend less money, and so on, until something ( such as the government dumping huge amounts of money on the poor to make them start spending again) happens.
Which is why trickle down economics cannot possibly work, because when preferred stockholders get tax breaks they don’t spend the money or pass it on to employees, they invest it. Which is another way of saying they hoard it.
Trickle down economics is really a euphemism for trickle up poverty.
reagans trickle up depression made it all the way to the upper middle class, as did the cheney war on prosperity depression.
The only good thing about this is that the criminal invaders flee for home when their benefits dry up because when the masses are no longer paying taxes the government has no choice but to tighten up or do like reagan did, which is to run up a massive deficit, which never pays the bills , all it does is feed the interest on the deficit to the banking industry.
Which is exactly why they dry the economy up to begin with. Bad economies for the poor working bastard are great economies for the corporate monolith. Wages dive, prices go up, and they make the same amount of money selling less products that cost far less to make.
