US Troops Seen at Turkey-Syria Border

US forces patrol border area near Tel Abyad after they reportedly came under Turkish artillery fire.

US forces were seen near the town of Tal Abyad in northeastern Syria on Friday, five days after they pulled from the border area.

Footage shows armoured vehicles in a field with a US flag as well as military personnel.

It is reportedly the first time US soldiers were spotted in the area after Turkey began its operation against the Kurdish forces on Wednesday.

US President Donald Trump said Washington would ‘obliterate’ Turkey’s economy if it goes off limits.

President Erdogan said the operation in northeastern Syria will continue despite what he called ‘threats’ from outside.

The UN estimates that nearly 100,000 people fled the border area after Turkey began its offensive.
