Vatic Note: I have to tell you a story…. its about how much the universe is changing and how we are changing with it.  I had enough of putting up exposes and what is going on that is wrong. I knew I still had to do it, but now I wanted to work on solutions.  I had some friends, three of them and 16 others that wanted to join our group once we got it organized…..we were going to get together to try and brainstorm some solutions.   Well, these people don’t really know each other and don’t hang out together. 

I am the one person common to all three. So I met with them, one at a time to try and get something going.   Ironically, all three decided at the very same time, that they would rather not do the brainstroming, but to simply work on their own to do “their own thing”.  So I was dispondant and wondered what I had done wrong.

Well, listen to the miracle that happened.  I asked “What did I do wrong that no one wants to brainstorm and I can’t do this by myself, please help me find someone to brainstorm with.”   And guess what happened.  All this stuff showed up the very next day and now I am putting it all up and its stuff I would never have thought of myself, by myself.  Is this not a miracle???  LOL  Its amazing what can happen when you stay open and not closed clinging to only what works for you.  I am so grateful that I have that ability and it allowed for all these things to show up at my door.  I hope you benefit from this information.  Look for more blogged solutions, in other areas sprinkled throughout the blogs each day. 

I love the new energy (for me its God) that is coming in and solving problems with us, just facilitating the information from the cosmos into this blog for you.   These are all in different fields of solutions which made it even more miraculous.  This guy below, has done something extraordinary.  The laws against growing are only for in the ground gardens.  How about that.  Now we can grow anywhere, inside, outside, in a small space and what are they going to do about it?  NADA.  I love it.  Please feel free to pass this on and to print it out as a manual.  What a generous thing for him to do.  He has done wonders with this system.  Enjoy!  

The Rain Tower – Vertical Hydroponic System

I had this idea for a vertical hydroponic system to take up less space and made it come to life. It works better than expected. I plan on making an 8′ tall system to use outdoors this summer to take advantage of all the free sunlight. There will be a video soon of how to make one step by step as well as downloadable templates from my website.

I was looking for a way to grow vertical using hydroponics and after seeing some larger and expensive aeroponic units I came up with what I call the rain tower.  I used a 5 gallon bucket and lid from the local hydroponics store.

The main tower is 5″ x 5″ PVC fence post and there is 3″ PVC pipe that holds the net pots diagonally into the tower,  The pump is an ECO 264 pump on a timer that turns on every 15 minutes and runs for 15 minutes.

The most difficult part of this whole unit was getting the right shape for the net pot holes in the tower.  I created templates and a video with step by step directions which I will be adding to this page very soon.

How To Build The Rain Tower:

Items You Need to Buy for this Project

• 1 each -  White Vinyl Fence Post  5” x 5” x 8

• 2 each -  White Vinyl Pyramid Post Top
• 5 gallon black bucket with lid for the bucket (link not exactly the same as in the video)
• 3” pvc pipe
• ECO264 submersible pump with attachments
• LEDwholesalers GYO2102 Hydroponic Grow Light 24-Hour Timer
• Veranda 5/8 in. x 5/8 in. x 8 ft. White Vinyl Blind Stop Moulding – cut into twelve 4″ pieces
• Spray adhesive
• Loctite PVC epoxy
• 12 3″ net pots from sunlight supply
• 1 silver 1”  Narrow utility hinge
• 2 brass  1 ½” Narrow utility hinges
• #6 32 x 3/8” machine screws with nuts (8 pc)
• Clear silicone for aquariums
• ½ inch nylon hose barb Tee
• 10 foot length Vinyl hose inner diameter ½ “ -   Outer diameter -  3/4”
• 4X24 ALUMINUM PIPE for Dryer vents
• medium grit sandpaper

Tools Needed for this Project:

• Miter saw
• Tape measure
• ruler
• Drill
• Various drill bits : 
  • 1/2″ for cut out pilot hole and also for Tee barb,
  • 5/32″ hole for hinges
  • 1/8″ holes for water tray
• Jig saw with fine blade
• Soldering iron
• 2 clamps
• Exact-o knife
• File

• Pencil

• White out
• Paper

• Paper or plastic plate or piece of cardboard for mixing epoxy
• Plastic knife for applying epoxy

This first version was made by Dax from The Daily Paul.  This is the first aquaponic version of The Rain Tower.  He made it very fast….within 10 days or so of the original rain tower video.
