If you are reading this, you know that prepping can be very expensive.  Sometimes even a ten spot is hard to come by these days.  If you are lucky enough to have $10 to spare, surprisingly, there are quite a few interesting and useful items available.  For folks on a limited budget, this is a good place to start. These are inexpensive items that work great! Each item can fill a gap in your preps or even be a back-up.  Here are 12 Preparedness Items Under $10.

The CREE LED Flashlight-  This is a favorite among preppers! It has an aluminum body with a 300Ln CREE LED for less than five bucks..shipped to your door.  It gets good reviews but keep note, shipping time is long and it doesn’t come with a battery, but hey, what can you expect for less than $5.

 

 

 

 

 

Esbit Ultralight Folding Pocket Stove- This folding pocket stove comes in handy on the trail. Use it to boil water to make sure it’s safe. It comes with 6 odorless solid fuel tablets and is constructed from galvanized steel.

 

 

 

 

Ultralight Backpacking Stove-  It works as well as any stove costing ten times more, weighs just a couple of ounces and will heat your food in an emergency (or start a fire).  I own several more expensive stoves and can’t think of a viable reason to spend the extra money.  You can’t go wrong with this one.

Sawyer Pocket First Aid Kit- You should have a first aid kit everywhere you go. At this price you can have one of these in every bag, glove compartment, and medicine cabinet.  Folks are always asking for low cost medical kits, while this one will attend to minor injuries, it works nonetheless.

 

 

 

 

 

550 Paracord-  Do we need to go over why you need to own paracord?  It is the duct tape (should be on this list) of the prepper world.  It has a thousand uses, from erecting shelter to fishing line.  If you don’t have a few hundred feet of paracord laying around, you need to question calling yourself a “prepper”. Just be sure you are buying type III 7 strand cord as all cords are not the same.
