Move Over Dolly Robots are the Next Big Thing When it Comes to Fun Girl Games

The day has finally arrived when girls are no longer interested in playing with dolls. No, interest in dolls has not faded because the girls have grown up. It has faded because there is a replacement – robots.

“Many doll manufacturers have started to abandon their quest to create fun, friendly dolls”, said a toy researcher who has studied trends in the toy industry for the past 30 years. “These manufacturers have now started to create fun girl games and toys that involve robots.”

Robots are the next big thing when it comes to fun girl games and toys. Young girls all over the world are no longer snuggling up with a rag doll or asking for a blonde haired doll that has held numerous careers. The girls are asking for robots.

“We are unsure what is really causing this huge spike in robots”, said the researcher. “There are a number of factors that could go into play here. It could just be a desire to have items that are more technological. It could be because the robots can do things dolls cannot, or it could be because there are now fun girl games that go along with the robots.”

While many people are viewing the interest in robots as fun and exciting, there are some that have expressed concern that it could lead to a decrease in creativity. Playing with dolls required the girls to use their imagination, but robots take some of that away.

“Manufacturers are trying to make up for the fact that the imagination is not being used”, said a marketing rep for a robot manufacturer. “They are now creating online fun girl games that allow the girls to take part in a fun and imaginative setting. This sparks creativity.”

The online community is almost as creative as playing with the dolls. Research indicates that girls who took part in the online fun girl games had higher creativity scores than those that did not take part in it.

“I am still getting used to the idea that robots are the new dolls”, said a mother of four girls. “I think it is a little creepy. I still buy dolls for my girls, but they insist on robots. I think it looks like a sci-fi movie and I just cannot get past it. Maybe some day I will buy them, but not today.
