Gamers Gear Up for Release of Next Great Gaming Console by Attending Audio Engineering Schools
Two major manufacturers have released gaming consoles that have taken the world by storm. Gamers are sitting glued to their TV screens, as they try to defeat each level or face off against friends and family members. While many gamers are like that, there are a handful of people who are already preparing for the next great gaming console. They are preparing by creating soundtracks and sound effects.
“It appears every time a new gaming console is released, we see an increase in students at our schools”, said David Hall, dean of a group of audio engineering schools in Seattle. “It looks like a bunch of gamers feel a renewed sense to join in on the action and learn how to create soundtracks, sound effects, and other things for video games.”
The group of audio engineering schools in Seattle focuses mainly on video game production. There are several classes on broadcasting sounds for large arenas and recording music, but the main focus of classes is video game production.
“On average, we have approximately 100 to 200 new students per school”, said Hall. “This semester we are seeing an increase to almost 500 students. This means that we have to turn people away or create a waiting list. It is disappointing to these students, but there are just too many people for our classrooms.”
It appears as if the increase in interest for these types of schools is brought on by a movement online. Many gamers are creating forums and Facebook groups that encourage each other to pursue their dreams. These gamers have a dream of creating their own video game with their own sound effects and music.
“I envision myself one day playing a game and that game contains music that I created”, said Barry Gallows, a recent applicant to the audio engineering schools in Seattle. “I would go crazy and I know my family would be in love with the idea. It would be really cool. I hope that I get in.”
The students that are not able to gain entrance into the audio engineering schools in Seattle will be allowed to apply for the next semester. David Hall is planning on opening more campuses across the Puget Sound area to meet demand and hopefully will have those open by next year.
“We hope to meet the demand of the students”, said David Hall. “Unfortunately, we did not see this demand coming. So, it will be a little while, but soon everyone that wants to be a part of this wonderful program will be a part of it.”
