New Kitchen Faucet Created with Help of Music Production Schools Reacts to the Music that is Played in a Home

Many homeowners love to put on music to create a warm, loving atmosphere in their home. That music used to be used as background noise, but with a new invention created by a group of students at local music production schools – it will now become part of a show.

“We have created a faucet that will react to the beats and sounds created by the MP3s or music played by homeowners”, explained Kelly Linkers, a student at one of the music production schools. “There is a tiny little sensor built into the faucet that receives the music and reacts to it. It is really cool.”

The built-in sensor is placed in the top of the faucet. When the homeowner turns the faucet on and has background music on, the faucet will react to the music. The faucet will react by changing strengths and with the deluxe model – it will change colors.

“Homeowners can wash their dishes with water that has a green tint or purple tint”, explained Linkers. “They can pick colors that will enhance the decor of the surrounding kitchen or give it a pop of color. This is extremely helpful when people leave their faucet running for several minutes while doing the dishes or working in the kitchen.”

Creating a faucet of this nature was not the intended outcome for these students at the music production schools. The original task was to create a fountain show that reacted to the music that was played. These types of productions are commonly found in major cities and have been used for a number of years.

“We were given the task to create a fountain show that reacted to the music”, explained Linkers. “We did that part of the project, but we thought it would be more fun if you could create something that could be used in the home. That was when we jokingly came up with the faucet.”

The students at the music production schools did not think that this object would catch on, but it did. In fact, this type of item was votes the must-have gadget of 2014. Pre-orders for the faucet have reached over 1,000.

“It is amazing how this faucet has caught on”, said Linkers. “Who knew that taking a course at one of the music production schools could lead to something like this? I did not think that would happen, so it is really exciting.”
