10-Strike Bandwidth Monitor 3.2 Is Finalist at Network Computing (UK) Awards 2015

10-Strike Software, the provider of network monitoring and management solutions, today announced that it is a finalist in UK Network Computing´s “IT Optimisation Product of The Year” Award category. The new version 3.2 of the bandwidth monitoring program helps monitoring network´s bandwidth and traffic usage by network computers. It counts traffic inside LAN and the Internet traffic as well and helps using enterprise resources more efficiently.

The program collects usage statistics of the inbound and outbound network traffic on network computers, switches, and other SNMP devices. It constantly collects the statistics on the inbound and outbound traffic on network devices, which passes through network interfaces on computers and switches, and displays the dynamic of the transfer speed changes in the real-time on graphic charts. The program is designed to help an administrator finding out which computer utilizes the most of traffic and monitoring the network bandwidth changes. The administrator can view the amount of traffic utilized by each networked computer in the real time or build reports on daily, weekly, or monthly basis. This can help him to identify a guilty employee, who uses the company recourses for personal affairs, watches online videos, etc. He can also find computers infected by a virus or a malware program which generates a lot of parasite network traffic. With the packet monitoring feature, the program is able to generate diagrams and reports containing addresses your computers are exchanging with the most often.

10-Strike Bandwidth Monitor supports a few methods of gathering the bandwidth usage data: via SNMP, via WMI, and via remote agents for Windows machines, which should be installed on remote computers. The SNMP protocol can be used to monitor the network bandwidth usage on computers as well as on switches, and other active network equipment.

The program can send notifications and execute particular actions when a failure occurs or an alert arises (the traffic usage limit is reached, network interface is down, and so on). When an alert occurs, the program can automatically shut down a remote computer, run an external application, restart a service, display a message on the screen, or play a sound alarm. The administrator can configure the program for sending alert messages as e-mails or SMS messages to his mobile phone.

The new release 3.2 offers new improved performance for monitoring hundreds or thousands of switches or user computers simultaneously. All authorization methods of the SNMP v3 are now supported.

Presented annually, the Network Computing Awards name companies, products, and services that have impressed readers of the UK´s longest established computer networking publication. The magazine is published by “Barrow and Thomas Connexions”. The Network Computing Awards 2015 ceremony will take place on March 19, 2015 at Hotel Russell in London.
