Lewis Mcleod Launches Bunya Microfinance Bunya.Org.Au

LEWIS MCLEOD is proud to announce the launch of his new website http://bunya.org.au/ . The website was created in its entirety by Lewis over many, many hours of work. The site was made live last month and has been quite a success.

At this point, you are asking yourself “What is Bunya Microfinance?”. The answer is simple.

Lewis Mcleod writes that Bunya Microfinance is a student-run non-profit that provides micro-enterprise development support, including microfinance, for financially and socially excluded aspiring business owners and entrepreneurs. Bunya Microfinance focuses mainly on Indigenous communities and individuals, but are open to everyone.

HOW and WHY was Bunya Microfinance formed?

Bunya Microfinance was founded in June 2015 by Lewis McLeod, a University of Sydney student. Lewis was volunteering at a number of non-profit organisations when it occurred to him that there were no student-run microfinance organisations in Sydney. He realised that effective microfinance could lead to financial empowerment and enterprise business development. Furthermore, he came to the conclusion that a united team of experienced and knowledgeable university students could make a huge difference to the Aboriginal community in Australia.

In relation to the Bunya Microfinance website and company launch, Lewis was quoted saying “With the right tools, college students can change the lives of those within their own communities and gain a broader social perspective. The growth of campus microfinance will help commercially disadvantaged individuals start and grow businesses, develop assets, increase their financial capacity and improve their economic well-being.” – sourced from http://www.bunya.org.au/about/
