AMERICAN DENTAL CLINIC CONDUCTS WORKSHOP ON DENTAL IMPLANTS

American Dental Clinic held a workshop on dental implants last week, for all patients scheduled for treatment.

The demand for dental implants in Dubai has been noted to have risen exponentially as recently, both tooth decay and tooth loss have dominated treatments in dentistry. In light of this, American Dental Clinic hosted a workshop over the last week in order to better educate and prepare their patients who are scheduled for implant treatment at some point over the course of the year. The session was considered to be a huge success with a large turnout and active day spent. Important points related to both benefits from dental implants as well as potential issues were focused on and addressed, as was the importance of selecting the right dental clinic for the job.

Through various methods of interaction from playing games, to presentations and practical situation handling, the experienced dentists in Dubai were able to impart their knowledge and address questions from the audience that would help prep them for their upcoming procedure. The topic was approached beginning from the very basics; the causes of tooth decay and loss, and thereby the need for implants followed by how the implant treatment is broken down. Every stage was elaborated on with dummies and drawings allowing the patients to understand how they could benefit and what they need to do to prevent complications that could arise.

‘Frankly, implants are one of the most invasive types of dental treatment there is. We’re talking about drilling an artificial root into your jawbone which then needs to be left there for some time; if the body accepts it, we can continue with the abutment onto which the crown is fixed. It sounds easy enough to talk about, but there’s a lot of stress involved for both sides. If the patient is nerve-wracked and untrusting, it becomes hard for us to do our jobs properly. Even the best dentists in Dubai will have their work cut out for them dealing with a fidgety, hysterical individual. So we as a team decided that we would put together a workshop covering all the areas related to dental implants. We had quite a few people come upto us once it was all done to let us know how useful the session was to them and how much they had learnt. For us, that meant we did our job.’ – Dr. Mauricio Taborda
