NEW VISION EYE CENTER ON EYE HEALTH IN THE YEAR 2017

New Vision Eye Center, a premier eye health specialist in Dubai has released important pointers on eye health for the New Year.

New Vision Eye Center which is under patronage of Dr. Safwaan Al. Bayati, has released tips for the public in achieving and maintaining better eye health over the New Year. With an overwhelming amount of enquiries on LASIK in Dubai and Diabetic Retinopathy, the clinic felt that they needed to address some of the more pressing concerns they came across.

Dr. Safwaan began his address by focusing on the causes of eye health issues with a stress on the impact genetics can have. He then moved onto the dangers of our daily habits including lack of sleep on a daily basis, late and long hours at the office, and most importantly our obsession with the world of technology. He stated that by exposing our delicate eye tissue to the harsh glare of artificial light all day everyday, we are setting ourselves up for disaster sooner than we should be. Before the age of 50, many of us will have deliberately deteriorated our vision, which he says is a marked jump from around a decade ago. Whilst he commented on the importance of LASIK eye surgery in Dubai to help rectify certain issue, he also reminded that it is not always the ultimate solution.

‘When you are a doctor, you see so much on a daily basis. Over a year, we tend to accumulate a lot of experience just by attending to so many patients. What I have seen often is the repetition of bad habits. Although many of my patients tend to follow their newfound lifestyle patterns for a while, after all as they say, ‘old habits die hard’. I think one of the biggest challenges people face is having to break away from what they are used to. So after much thought and deliberation, I think my message for the New Year is to please, make a change. You cannot expect a different result by doing the same thing every time. It simply does not make any sense. You cannot depend on surgery like LASIK treatment in Dubai and expect things to be normal. That’s not how it works.
