Far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence!! Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. Who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth. Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God. For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.

God Has Given Us Everything We Need. Jesus has the power of God. And his power has given us everything we need to live a life devoted to God. We have these things because we know him. Jesus chose us by his glory and goodness, through which he also gave us the very great and rich gifts that he promised us. Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.

Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible. Because our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction. You know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake.

Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you. Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is.

Being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy; Whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
