START…. Is Our Finish

This 20th day of December, 2010;

            Once a Russian potentate pounded his fist on the UN podium vehemently warning the then USSR would destroy America from within, his prediction, it seems has come true. As of late America need not agonize over an armed invasion from a foreign power, heck, let truth be told, “I have seen the enemy, and they are us.” They, are our own elected officials both Republican and Democrat alike and, they resides right here in Washington DC.

Amidst the typical perplexity of Christmas week and a mere five days before the most celebrated holiday of the year this “Lame Duck” congress turned into a “Charging Rhinoceros” as it rams through an arms treaty with the Russians which will, with one stroke of Obama’s pen hereafter, drastically curtail our national defense, thus limiting our militaries capabilities to defend our national sovereignty that Americans are entitled to under the Constitution of the United States. And furthermore, this is the sworn duty of our Federal Government. But, despite the demands of the American voters to protect and defend instead, Congress has granted to our adversaries a strategic nuclear advantage called START.

            And worse yet, instead of the republican minority protesting the strong arm tactics of ramming through last minute legislation which, everyone knows, Pelosi and Reid are notoriously brutal for. Congress should have simply shut down and walked away from the obvious ploy by the democratic majority to pass legislation, the democrats now dam well it would have never passed the newly elected Congress. Those idiots chose to stay in session and they, in doing so, handed victory after victory to, of all things, to the political losers who, lost their seats and should have been packing their bags to return to their jobs as manure shovelers prior to their election to public office.

I wrote a blog entitled “The Liberty Killer” in which I metaphorically referred to the Russians emerging once again as a “vindictive fire breathing dragon of our past.” In it, I warned the Russians have not forgotten their disgraceful defeat in the cold war arms race and, they would reemerge, this time armed with a new weapon called the virtual lie. The virtual lie theory being, there is no difference between a lie and the truth, thus one would be suspect of any so called treaty the Russians are anxious to agree to.

While Uncle Sap has been observing a self imposed “nuclear freeze” for the last 20 years, mind you, the Russians have seized upon the opportunity to, as the former director of the Defense Nuclear Agency stated to the Washington Times, “For the past 20 years, Russian’s principal nuclear weapons activities have been focused on the advanced tactical weapons –research, testing and production of next generation weapons. Russians new military strategy emphasizes early use of tactical nuclear weapons in all conflicts, large and small.” And there you have it, the early use of a tactical nuclear weapon in all conflicts, large and small. Feel safer America, well here is more bad news; these Russian tactical nuclear weapons are not part of the treaty that Congress just signed.

So this START treaty as Admiral Monroe explains “will lock us into a gross imbalance: less then 2,000 US nuclear weapons facing 5,000 to 8,000 Russian nuclear weapons. And therefore we’re left with no negotiating capitol.” Now that the treaty has been ratified the Russians have no reason to negotiate with us, they got exactly what they wanted, furthermore they know the Obama Administration will do nothing when they use their tactical nuclear weaponry, the only question remaining now is, on whom. 

First off, some facts about our estranged Presidents foreign policies which, to say the least are not conducive with the constitutionality of a free society that allegedly is, or should I say was, conceived in liberty. But the kicker is this President spoke volumes of his attitude towards the United States at the nuclear summit, and I quote “Whether we like it or not, we remain the dominant military superpower, and when conflicts break out, one way or another we get pulled into them; and that ends up costing us significantly in terms of both blood and treasure.”

This statement, as Senator McCain, whom I have little or no respect for pointed out is a “direct contradiction to everything America believes in.” And, once again, Obama’s words happen to be the same rhetoric one could expect from Obama’s mentors, Wright and Ayres, but even if one considers the source of his words, they make no sense, “whether we like it or not.”  Mr. Obama what do you mean WE? Speak for yourself, you mean “whether- I- like it or not.”

As I have pointed out, Russians view discussion, negotiations and appeasement as a sign of weakness. In the Presidential campaign Obama was hell bent on change, he promised to reverse the Cowboy Bush’s foreign policies with his idea of reaching a “broader diplomatic accord.” Yet, countries like Russia, North Korea and Iran are polite to such speech by Obama, then snicker and call him a fool behind his back. But still, Obama pressed forward using his laughable expressions while rational intelligent people listen with tongue in cheek. Does he not realize his method of engagement or shall we say useless talk has failed miserably.

The Iranian President Ahmadinejad, despite Obama’s engagement method is now drawing closer to the nuclear holocaust he has openly promised. A Saudi professor in Jeddah who held Obama in high esteem summed him up with simple logical eloquence, stating simply…. “He talks too much.” Gotta love it.

Business Daily’s editors asked a very pertinent question which pertains to our national security, “How can a theocratic government with a stone-age worldview take the most sophisticated, modern, industrialized nation in the world for a ride, as if we just fell off the turnip truck?” The answer to his logical question is chilling, “Because those who run Iran realize they are engaged in a global war. Those who run American foreign policy, on the other hand, think –war on terror is passé.” The Presidents idea of engagement sounds smart, “But it is the same naiveté of Neville Chamberlain and the piece of paper he waved barring Hitler’s autograph.” And so history, once again, has much to say, like Chamberlain’s ridiculous notion that a piece of paper barring the signature by a fanatic could, or would, stop Word War 2 was foolish to the point of being flat out stupid.

And, to boot, Obama’s foreign policy of negotiating with Russians, North Koreans and Iranians is even worse than foolish. Engaging in treaties with totalitarian regimes is flat out dangerous. This is not a collage basketball game Mr. President, Senators and Congressman these are nuclear weapons in the hands of tyrants so now with the aid of our disingenuous legislators America and our 30 allies who rely upon our nuclear umbrella for protection, have fallen victim to yet another bad deal at the behest of pluralistic politicians which further pushes the United States into an inauspicious world position while the governed demand safety from its government.
