Sabbath in the Day of the Apostles part two takes up where we left off in the early church. Here we discuss the commandments, feasts, Sabbath, and specifically what the scripture say about these things. We talk about the difference between the Sabbath that many keep and the Lords Sabbath. This Sabbath is scriptural and is found in the Ten Commandments. It is here where we discuss the early church and the later church when the Catholic Church was moving forward in the power of St. Peter’s commission.

It is here where “the church chose Sunday, the first day of the week, and in the course of time added other days as holy days” [John Laux, A Course in Religion for Catholic High Schools and Academies, 1 936, vol. 1, P.51.] It is here where we find that not only has the Sabbath been changed, but academics in the church admit it freely. The decision for you is what do you want to keep? The scriptural Sabbath and feasts or those designated by the church?

Is Saturday the seventh day according to the Bible and the Ten Commandments? I answer yes. Is Sunday the first day of the week and did the Church change the seventh day -Saturday – for Sunday, the first day? I answer yes. Did Christ change the day’? I answer no! Nowhere in the Bible do we find that Christ or the Apostles ordered that the Sabbath be changed from Saturday to Sunday. We have the commandment of God given to Moses to keep holy the Sabbath day that is the 7th day of the week, Saturday. Today most Christians keep Sunday because it has been revealed to us by the [Roman Catholic] church outside the Bible. [Catholic Virginian Oct. 3, 1947, p. 9, art. "To Tell You the Truth."]

“There was and is a commandment to keep holy the Sabbath day, but that Sabbath day was not Sunday. It will be said, however, and with some show of triumph, that the Sabbath was transferred from the seventh to the first day of the week…. Where can the record of such a transaction be found? Not in the New Testament absolutely not. [Dr. Edward T. Hiscox, a paper read before a New York ministers' conference, Nov. 13, 1893, reported in New York Examiner , Nov.16, 1893.]

We also discuss the Lords feasts and finish up with some more details concerning the early church in this second part. It is here where the modern church has willingly followed feasts and Sabbath’s outside of biblical parameters. Yet they do not see anything wrong with it. Sabbath, the Feasts, and the commandments are heart issues from those who love the Lord. You can keep a Sabbath and renamed feasts to the Lord. Yet, the real Sabbath is the one we find in Scripture and that is Friday night to Saturday night. As with the commandments, our Lord said “if you love me, keep my commandments”. The feasts discussed are an overview only. We have covered these during the feasts themselves and these shows can be found on our sites. The decision is up to you. Ask the Lord for Revelation on these issues. Many in the church simply do not know these things.
