A Sign For The Rapture?

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

By Grant Phillips

Most people have an idea of the coming Biblical judgment on earth, although their skepticism may override their thinking on the matter. It is portrayed on the evening news and in the Hollywood movies. Armageddon, for example, is a term used often by the secular world, even though they have little to no knowledge of the subject matter. Rapture, Tribulation, Armageddon, these words are thrown around like rice at a wedding, usually in order to induce excitement or to make a point. I’m still speaking of the secular part of society of course. Unfortunately, many Christians are no more educated on these terms than they.

My only intent at this time is to clear up a misconception about the Rapture. Is there anything that must be fulfilled before the Rapture can take place? For those who may not know what I mean by “Rapture,” it is the event when Jesus Christ comes for His Church, His Bride, and removes all true Christians from the earth prior to the beginning of the seven years of Tribulation.

Jesus told us in His Word that there would be signs ushering in and included in the Tribulation that will be on earth (Matthew 24, et al). The Tribulation is a commonly recognized name for Daniel’s Seventieth Week, which is simply the remaining seven years God promised Israel. These remaining seven years will occur just prior to Christ’s second coming to the earth (Matthew 24:29-31). His first coming was to die on the cross and leave an empty grave to make provision for all who come to Him in belief to be spiritually born again (John 3). His second coming is to put an end to the seventieth year, the Tribulation, and rule the world for the next one thousand years. I understand that this is very simply stated and basic, but my intention again is the Rapture.

The seven years of Tribulation on this earth is going to take place soon. When? I don’t know. I do know that there are so many signs that are self-evident and exponentially increasing, it can’t be far off. This period will be the most horrific time mankind has every endured upon this earth. It cannot be hell, for hell is far worse, but it will seem like hell on earth.

Prior to this seven year period of judgment and reconciliation, judgment for the world and reconciliation for Israel, Jesus will remove all those who have put their trust in Him (Revelation 3:10, et al). They are called Christians, His Church and His Bride. These are true believers, not those who espouse Christianity for their convenience, but actually have put their trust in Jesus Christ through their belief in Him, and have been saved by His grace. By removing His Church He will end the dispensation of the Church Age and return to Israel to complete the promises He made her.

Rapture Ready pre mid or post?

Is the Rapture at Revelation 3:10 or is it Revelation 14:15-16

The timing of the rapture, the truth concerning Rapture and the debates surrounding the Rapture of the church.

Before we focus in on the main commentary of this subject I wish to address a few quick but very important points. Let’s begin with a familiar scripture, it is Mark 13:32.

      Mark 13:32

“But of that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.

Lets now take a look at another scripture that’s not quite as familiar but it helps give proper balance to the scripture you just read above. This next scripture is 1 Thessalonians 5:1-5

      1 Thessalonians 5:1-5

1 Now, brothers, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, 2. for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. 4 But you brothers are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. 5 You are all sons of the light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness

The obvious points from these two scriptures are clear

      * No one knows the exact day or hour.

      * Jesus comes as a thief to non-believers, but for believers that day does not surprise us, for we are not of the darkness.

      * Jesus wants his children to know the general season of his coming.

      * The general signs of Jesus’ coming are given by Jesus himself in Matthew chapter 24 as well as the other Gospels. Keep in mind the signs of Jesus’ coming were given by Jesus so his church would know when his 2nd coming was near. In other words if it is a sign Jesus said would occur right before Jesus’ second coming, then obviously Jesus will not come before the sign he gave to watch for is fulfilled. Jesus focused very specifically on one sign in particular where he referred to the prophet Daniel.

      Matthew 24:15-16

“Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (let the reader understand), 16 “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.

Jesus said, “when you see what was spoken by the Prophet Daniel concerning the abomination that makes desolate then let the reader understand.” Jesus was clearly referring to the third Jewish temple and the Antichrist when he spoke of Daniel’s prophecy, and Jesus was clearly instructing the Christians that would be alive on earth to see Daniel’s prophecy fulfilled.

      Matthew 24:6-8

6 See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Notice Jesus says in the white highlight above that all these things must take place first, but the end is not yet. Jesus was very specific about the end, Jesus taught that at the end of the age he would send his angels gather his children from the four corners of the earth.

      Matthew 24:33-35

33 So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near at the doors! 34 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away. Jesus is making it very clear that when you see these things, including the abomination of desolation that Jesus’ second coming is near, even at the doors.

Jesus made it abundantly clear that until all these things occur his 2nd coming would not occur. In fact one of the reasons Jesus told us these things in the first place was so we would not fall away when they occur. That is why Jesus in Matthew 24:6 said “do not to be troubled” If we had already been raptured before any of these things had taken place, then I doubt very seriously that any of us could be troubled by them.

Matthew 24: 6 See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

Jesus also said later after comforting with the words “be not troubled” Jesus also said he who endures to the end shall be saved.

      RESURRECTION OF BELIEVERS: REWARDS GIVEN

      Revelation 11:15-18

And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, the kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign forever and ever. And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshiped God, 17 Saying, We give you thanks, O LORD God Almighty, which is, and was, and is to come; because you have taken your great power, and has begun to reign. 18 And the nations were angry, and your wrath has come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that you should give reward to your servants the prophets, and to the saints. and them that fear your name, small and great; and that you should destroy them which destroy the earth.

Now in the scripture above we have the 7th Angel sounding his trumpet. Notice that it says in verse 18; “your wrath has come” speaking of God’s wrath and also “the time of the dead that they should be judged.” We know these are believers because it says the servants, the prophets and the saints. Also rewards are spoken about. You only give rewards to children in the kingdom. This is the resurrection Paul is talking about in 1st Corinthians. We know these are believers in Jesus because the white thrown judgment resurrection for the unbelieving dead, does not occur until Revelation 20.

This is the resurrection where the dead in Christ rise first, for the scripture declares we who are alive at Jesus’ coming shall by no means precede those who have died in Christ. Apostle Paul made that very clear in 1st Corinthians that the dead in Christ rise first at Rapture. Since you cannot give rewards to a dead person, obviously these are the dead in Christ who have been raised and us who have been changed at the Rapture. Since this is the only place in Revelation where believers are raised from the dead and given rewards, then it is impossible for rapture to have occurred in Revelation 3:10. For me Rapture in itself is a reward, so to receive any rewards above and beyond Rapture is like getting a gift that seems to pale in comparison to finally being with Jesus. Nothing in my opinion will be greater than being changed in my new body and being with Jesus. Nevertheless the scriptures declare additional rewards are to be given. The point however is inescapable, Rapture happens here not before in Revelation 3:10.

      Revelation 3:10 – The pre-tribulation rapture foundation

10 Because you have kept the word of my patience, I also will keep you from the hour of temptation, which shall come on all the world, to try them that dwell on the earth.

Christians that hold to the pre-tribulation doctrine is mostly because they do not understand what the hour of trial is that God promised to keep them from. Here is what that hour of trial is.

      Revelation 17:12

“The ten horns you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but who for one hour will receive authority as kings along with the beast. 13 They have one purpose and will give their power and authority to the beast.

      Revelation 18:10

standing at a distance because of the fear of her torment, saying, ‘Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city! For in one hour your judgment has come.’

Pre-tribulation Christians also like to use the argument that the church is not mentioned after the first chapters of Revelation. Actually it is, here is one of those verses:

      Revelation 6:10 -11

10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, will you not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them that they should rest yet for a little while, until their fellow servants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

We know these are Christians mentioned in Revelation 6:10 because the 144,000 of the Jewish people have not yet been sealed. If Christians had been Raptured at Revelation 3:10 then there would be no believing Christians on the earth to be killed. The 144,000 of the twelve tribes of Israel are not sealed until Chapter 7. Revelation 6:10-11 are Christians that were killed for there belief in Jesus. “Avenge our blood” in Revelation 6 settles as fact they were killed or murdered for there faith in Jesus.

      Revelation 7:14

I said to him, “Sir, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

As far as where it states in Revelation chapter 3 where it states “Come up here” understand that this specifically has to do with John the Revelator being caught up in the Spirit of the Most High to be shown what Jesus Christ would have John write regarding the prophecy of Revelation. It had nothing to do with the church being caught up in the spirit or the body, nor did it have anything to do with Rapture occurring at that moment.

Rapture: The correct understanding and timing

Lets now take a deeper look at this mystery from scripture with much more detail then we will go from there. Holy Spirit in the mighty name of Jesus Christ I ask for your Wisdom and for wisdom and understanding to be given to your children who are called of you to understand this difficult subject.

      1 Cor 15:51-57

51 Lo ! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed. 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised in corruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on in-corruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on in-corruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, which gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

      Commentary note on: 1 Cor 15: 51-52

In verse 51 and 52 above we see the words Mystery, Last Trump and the word raised. Paul obviously is talking about a resurrection of believers here, otherwise he would not have used the word RAISED in respect to the dead. He is also talking about the end of the church age. With those things in mind lets look at God’s Word some more.

      Revelation 10:5-7

And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven, 6 And swore by him that lives for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be no more delay 7 But in the days of the trump of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he has declared to his servants the prophets.

      Commentary on Rev 10:7

Now here in Revelation 10 verse 7 we see the Word “Mystery” and the promise that when the seventh angel sounds his trumpet the Mystery of God would be fulfilled. We know the 7th angel in Revelation is the same one who blows the 7th trump. Here in Revelation 10:7 is only the promise, the angel is not sounding it here. Now lets look further into the Word of God.

18 And the nations were angry, and your wrath has come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that you should give reward to your servants the prophets, and to the saints and them that fear your name, small and great; and that you should destroy them which destroy the earth.

It occurs at the blowing of the Last trump, which is blown by the 7th angel. We also know these are believers in Jesus because the white thrown judgment resurrection for the rest of the dead, does not occur until Revelation 20.

One additional note on God’s wrath, notice from Revelation 11:15-18 above that until this scripture God’s wrath has not yet come. The time that it has come is announced in this scripture. All events that have occurred before this scripture are judgments and tribulations from God, but it is not his wrath. Let us continue with this scripture below.

      Revelation 14:13-20

13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yes, says the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them. 14 And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle. 15 And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud,

Rapture happens here >>>> Revelation 14: 15-16 15 And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in your sickle, and reap: for the time is come for you to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe. 16 And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped.

God’s Wrath begins here >>>> Revelation 14: 17-20 17 and another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle. 18 And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in your sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe.19 And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great wine-press of the wrath of God. 20 And the wine-press was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the wine-press, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.

First sickle is the Rapture of Christian believers, the 2nd sickle is God’s wrath

Now this is where Rapture actually takes place, Rev 14:14-16 is the Rapture. This is the 1st sickle where Jesus comes and takes his Church out of the world and out of his impending wrath. Notice the word Harvest is used, Jesus also uses the word Harvest when explaining the tares and the wheat in Matthew. Now the next sickle (2nd Sickle) starts in 14:17-20, this is a wrath sickle. The 1st sickle is a Harvest sickle (Rapture). Be sure not to confuse these two sickles. Once again the 1st sickle in Revelation 14:14-16 is the Rapture. The second sickle in Revelation 14:17-20 is a wrath sickle. The Bowl judgments begin right after this second sickle in chapter 14:17-20. As Jesus promised and Apostle Paul spoke, Jesus delivers us out of his wrath. Exactly as Paul was instructed and wrote to us by the power of the Holy Spirit.

I would like to point out one more thing to all reading, Jesus said in Mark Chapter 13 that the church age generation shall not pass away until all these things take place. What things? All the things he spoke of in Chapter 13. In Mark 13:37 Jesus also said this. “And what I say to you I say to all: Watch.” Jesus said for all to watch He was speaking to his disciples and to us, Watch for what? Everything he spoke that would happen in Mark Chapter 13. Note Jesus did not say what I say to you I say to all, except for those who will be raptured before any of these things happen.

Jesus also talks about the tares (nonbelievers) and the wheat (believers). Jesus makes it clear they grow together until his coming. Jesus’ coming and rapture are in fact the same event. Here are a couple of those scriptures.

      Matthew 13:29

But he said, No; lest while you gather up the tares, you root up also the wheat with them. Matthew 13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, You gather together first the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

      Commentary on Matthew 13:29

Notice Jesus says to the reapers to gather first the tares (nonbelievers) and bind them into bundles to be burned. Jesus does not command them to be burned at that very moment but rather be bound and gathered first for a future time that he will destroy them. This binding and separation will occur during the time of the Antichrist. Those who take the buying and selling mark of the Antichrist will be bound and separated, to be burned after the church has been raptured.

Matthew 13:38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; 39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. Matthew 13:40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.

      1 Thessalonians 4:16,17

“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.”

First, Please note that in both passages, a trumpet sounds before the dead are raised to life.

Now although this may seem quite simple, it is very important to observe this very simple commonality, because we’re about to compare these two passages to another passage that contains Christ’s own description of His second coming. Here it is:

      Matthew 24:30

“Then the Sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming of the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with the sound of a great trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”

So in Christ’s own words, at His second coming a “great trumpet” will be sounded, after which His elect will be gathered together, “from one end of heaven to the other”.

This is exactly the same event that is described in the first two passages. In all three, a trumpet is sounded, and in all three, the ‘elect’, or believers, both dead and alive, are gathered to Christ.

To my brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ, Fear Not. Jesus promised to never forsake you, or leave you. He will provide protection during these times. Trust Him. Trust His Word. I have shown you the truth from Jesus’ Word. This is why I do not accept pre tribulation rapture, but rather pre-wrath.

the so called rapture is a false teaching that has permeated christianity for a long long time. just like the “Eve ate an apple in the garden” teaching. People need to shed the lies and discover the truth of what the bible says.

      • Pix

There is no truth in the Bible, it’s 100% fiction.

    • Pix

      “Most people…”,

Dreadful way of starting any article. Most people = consensus = political. Consensus is only relevant to politics. So now I’m assuming the article is trying to spin people into believing total BS, which of course is exactly what it is.

The concept of a final conflagration originates from Mithrasism, c 5’000 years older than Christianity, along with baptism, the Eucharist, an afterlife of heaven and hell, a half human half divine mediator born on 25th december, miracles. Same sacred sites converted to Christianity, same church hierarchy, same dogma, rituals, dress (ie mitred hat), same festivals dates and all.

@ Prophecy “Is the Rapture at Revelation 3:10 or is it Revelation 14:15-16″

It’s neither ‘cos the rapture is mainstream Christian religious Hoo Ha and BS.

And to prove it I’ll paste the Holy Scriptures you have quoted here:

Rev 3:10 (KJV) Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

No mention of a rapture here.

Rev 14:15-16 (KJV) And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe. 16 And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped.

And no mention of a rapture here either. Well well, this must mean that some deceiver is reading his or her religious BS into the Holy Scriptures. Hmm, yes, a favourite pastime of mainstream Christians me thinks.

    • Channel of Light

LOL..wow..it is like a breeding ground here for chaos and hostility.

So many members attacking other’s value and worth, which is always a clear sign of that particular individual and his or her own insecurity and deep seated self-image issues.

Of course, the issue of Rapture has much validity and truth, as anyone with a small bit of intelligence and self-awareness can see, if they look.

A person with an OPEN mind, questions, explores, investigates…in order to better understand and learn about their challenges while the lower developed individual will focus on triviality, ego, opinion and lower evolved thinking.

Although this issue of Rapture has and IS happening currently, not all human ind will be shifting to higher frequencies of reality.

Most will stay on this planet as it continues to move into lower levels of hostility, fear, conflict and oppression.

And others, who have evolved to a sufficient level will move into those higher levels of reality where magic happens.

And still others, will move into parallel realities where duplicity continues to play out.

And many will simply move into higher 5th. density levels of reality by physically dying.

For you see, this Rapture event is a natural cycle and is not limited to just one or two aspects of change.

The mechanics of this natural event is based in change and transformation, which ALL reality must experience.

For those who have a Religious slant, they will perceive or experience this Perceptional Shift with a specific orientation, seeing Gods or Saints saving them and so on.

For those who have not done their homework and believe that this perceptional shift is phooey…well, some of these individuals will be in for a real treat and still others, will behave as if every day is as the last…nothing changes and nothing learned.

Having an OPEN mind is…the first stage of effective learning.

Every child learns this when he or she begins to grow up.

Expressing a ‘piss and vinegar’ attitude with little desire or effort to understand the issue clearly shows that particualr individuals’ own lower evolution.

Some people like to learn…and grow…and gain wisdom..and still others, prefer to focus on triviality, controversy, self-importance and empty chatter.

Who do you feel and believe you are….the one who loves to learn and support those who share your gifts or…those who take pleasure in creating chaos and conflict, never resolving anything…merely adding to the clutter?

      In Peace….

“Of course, the issue of Rapture has much validity and truth, as anyone with a small bit of intelligence and self-awareness can see, if they look.”

Really, and if that is the case how did Christian believers prior to Mr Darby (1830) conjuring up the rapture BS cope? I mean let’s face it, for according to your ‘enlightened views’ people prior to Darby’s ‘inspired revelation’ will have known nothing about a rapture.

The first and second resurrections they would have known about, but not your mickey mouse rapture.

My mind is open to Biblical Truth only, not the babblings of vain Christian Religious numpties.
