AIRPLANES MENTIONED IN THE BIBLE – REALLY LOOK

Isaiah 60

Verses 4 “Lift up your eyes round about and see;
They all gather together, they come to you.
Your sons will come from afar,

Verse 9 And the ships of Tarshish will come first,
To bring your sons from afar,

Verse 8 “Who are these who fly like a cloud
And like the doves to their lattices?

In this section of Isaiah, the Prophet sees the future return of the Jews to Israel. He sees them returning by land, sea, and air. Isaiah is shocked by the latter. He understood the return by sea and land but he did not understand how they could return by air.

Here is what he said:

Isaiah 60:8 NIV “Who are these that fly along like clouds, like doves to their nests?”

”Many Bible teachers see Isaiah 60:8 as a reference to airplanes.

J Vernon McGee says that the “Jews who have come from farther East than Israel thought this prophecy was being fulfilled as they were brought by American airplanes to the land of Israel.” (Thru the Bible).

In his very helpful commentary on the book of Isaiah, Harry Bultema wrote, “There can be no doubt that this is a reference to aircraft, which at that time will probably be the means of transportation par excellence.” Bultema predicted this about one hundred years ago, before air travel was widely used.

WE Vine says Isaiah 60:8 “can well be realized in view of the enormous development of passenger aviation in our times. The transference of the scattered Jews to their own territory could be accomplished in the course of a few days by this means” (Isaiah).” This was also written long before air travel was popular.

Yes, the Bible even predicted air travel.
