Have You Lost Your Peace?

Are you struggling lately with a personal trial?  Have the winds of adversity knocked you off your feet?  Does it seem like everyone around you is too busy with his or her own lives to even notice that you have been knocked flat?  Are helping hands non-existent and listening ears nowhere to be found?  Has the enemy robbed you of peace and entered your dreams at night?

Oh suffering soul, there is peace to be had; you need only to reach out and grab it from God!  He encourages you to come to Him when you are weary and feeling over burdened.  The promise of rest should encourage you to run into His loving arms.   What are you waiting for, dear one? 

Let us examine a few ways we can increase our peace?  We read in Philippians 4:6-7 that in every possible stressful situation, we are to cast aside our anxiety and pray, with thanksgiving.  Our petitions should be full of thanks and a grateful heart because we have an intercessor 24/7.  Jesus never sleeps and makes appeals to God on our behalf. 

Knowing that our personal trials and hardships are recognized and heard by the Almighty Creator, should provide us all with hope.  Peace should nestle down into our hearts the minute we lift our hearts in prayer.  Oh, how important it is to remember that a mighty God will strengthen and enable us to persevere through any trail we must face!  In addition, shouldn’t we find comfort in the knowledge of His great love for us and rejoice in knowing His timing is always perfect? 

That promised peace that transcends all understanding is always available.  This supernatural peace will guard your mind from the attacks of the enemy.  His aim is to rob you of your peace and immobilize you with anxiety.  Do not let him!  You have things to do for Christ.  A Christian soldier should be advancing and not retreating during the spiritual battles of life.

Peace is found when you rest in the power of God.  Peace is found when you trust in His loving and just nature, and in the promises written in the Bible.  Peace is NOT found by eating troubles away with chocolate (I know this is true because I have tried it on several occasions!) or buying out a shoe store.  These actions are only momentary and worldly distractions.  They will not satisfy your soul and give you the peace needed to sleep at night. 

May the peace of Christ rule in your heart forever!!
