"Transgender" Mormon Priest Robert Isaak Comes Out

The apostle Paul wrote to Timothy: “But know this, that in the last days difficult times will come, for people will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, arrogant, slanderers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, hardhearted, irreconcilable, slanderous, without self-control, savage, with no interest for what is good, traitors, reckless, conceited, loving pleasure rather than loving God, maintaining a form of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid these people.”(2 Ti 3:1–5) This seems to become more accurate everyday…

Robert “Leahnora” Isaak, a husband, Father, and ordained Mormon priest, is now claiming to be transgender woman. He abandoned his wife and children last Spring when he asked for a divorce and marched in the Salt Lake Pride parade. Apparently the Mormon leadership in Portland, Oregon has no problem with his behavior and allows Bob to attend the Mormon priesthood meetings.  According to an interview on channel 4 Utah Bob said, “The scriptures clearly state that we are to be our authentic selves. It’s the gender not the sex. The gender is the eternal identity.”[1] But is this really true? Are gender and sex really separated and defined by our feelings?

According to the LGBT lobby we are supposed to accept a new category between man and woman, transgender, as opposed to a behavior oriented category like “cross-dressing transvestite.”  No matter how they spin it, it is behavior based pathology not an identity. The strategy is to label it as an identity and in order to claim minority status. Now we’re supposed to approve or even celebrate rather than objecting to the twisted behavior: a man dressing up and pretending to be a woman.

The language is manipulated by radicals to influence our moral ethical reasoning.  According to the fringe left, there are no longer two options, male and female but three. On this view, gender is socialized not inherent.  But this is abjectly false. Sex is determined by chromosomes. Females have two of the same kind of sex chromosome (XX), Males have two distinct sex chromosomes (XY). Sexuality is one or the other—not multiple choice—the excluded middle applies.  

Gender is dictated by biological teleology. Women carry children and have lactating breasts that feed the infant. Obviously, they are more suited to nurturing than men. Men are physically stronger and more suited to protecting the family and hard physical labor that requires strength. These are dictated by birth. Hormone therapy and bodily mutilation will never really change one’s gender.

Nevertheless, the postmodern revisionists in the LGBT lobby want us to accept that there is such a thing as a transgender person: a woman trapped in a man’s body or vice versa. They claim these individuals feel like a woman but have the biology of a man. However, feelings do not dictate reality. Indeed, in all other areas of mental health, like someone who thinks he is a chicken, we do not advocate the person’s delusion. Imagine doctors surgerically implanting feathers onto the person with a trans-poultry disorder. Would they become a chicken? To the contrary, we would counsel the deluded individual to change his feelings to match reality.

The same applies to transgender claims. A man paying doctors to mutilate his body does not change his gender; it just makes him a mentally deranged man with a mutilated body, not a woman. It is not a valid choice, it is a perversion. No matter how many so-called gender “choices” postmodern culture adopts, reasonable people know that nature has only ordained two. Manipulating the language doesn’t change reality.

Robert desperately needs to accept the authentic Gospel message, not the false Gospel of Mormonism, and seek counseling to repent of his behavior.

      You are quite mistaken. Gender ambiguity at birth is far more common than you might realize; it’s called Intersexuality.

      Often times, it is kept quiet by physicians and parents who try and change the newborn into one sex or another thinking quite erroneously that they will just grow up and accept the decision that the doctors and parents have made for them.

      This could not be further from the truth. The wise and learned position these days in the Intersexed is to let them reach an age where they can make the decision on what will make THEM the happiest–not the doctors, not the parents.

      The older method of deciding denounces the fact that you cannot change brain sex. It’s best for the person when both body and mind align.

      Being transgendered is Not some “lifestyle choice.” Transsexuality is a medical condition in which the fetus develops sex organs that do not match the brain sex.

      Thus, it is a medical issue, not a mental one.

If one’s “brain sex” does not match their actual sex then they have a mental problem by definition. You unintentionally made the case for me.

      He did not apparently have any children.

      Secondly, the Christian Bible recognizes a situation in which a male has damaged genitals.
      Though he would not be ceremonially fit for participation in the Jewish Temple, let alone as a priest (Deu 23), he could still be saved and participate in Christian services…

        Sex is determined by chromosomes not genitalia, it is unfortunate that he was born deformed but that doesn’t make him a woman. You cherry picked a portion to misrepresent the article. It said: “She was born without male genitalia, but received testosterone treatments growing up. She was married and raised a family in Ohio.” “Married and raised a family” means he made a commitment to a wife and family which was broken to pursue this aberrant behavior.

        Your lack of basic biblical knowledge is apparent because there was no such thing as Christian services in the context of Deuteronomy, it predated Christianity by 1500 years. It is in the Jewish Torah and is part of the Old Testament but the OT laws do not apply to new covenant Christians, however God’s moral character does not change, so a man dressing up as a woman is still an abomination to God.

          But, if a man has surgery to become a woman, he is by default no longer a man dressing up as a woman. Both the Mormon religion as well as Islam have no problem with gender reassignment.

          In fact there is an interesting story in which a male to female transsexual who was a devout Muslim got a sitting with the Ayatollah Khomeni and asked his opinion of the issue.

          His answer to here was: “Since it is not strictly prohibited in the Qur’an, it is not a sin, and can be allowed.”

          Incorrect, you have a mutilated man dressed up as a woman.

          Jesus’ teaching on eunuchs has no application to this mental illness. Islam and Mormonism are both false religions but homosexuality warrants the death penalty in Yemen and Saudi Arabia so I seriously doubt your claim.

      I wants aware Mormons ordained priests. They have elders, deacons, bishops…. No priests.

      This article is obviously propoganda directed at people who know little but rumors about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (sometimes called the mormon church).
      In the mormon church there are two priesthoods, the Aaronic and Melchizedek. in the lower priesthood, the Aaronic, there are three offices, deacon, teacher and priest. A young man of good moral character is typically ordained a deacon at 12 years old, a teacher at 14 years old, and a priest at 16 years old. At 18 or a little later, he is ordained to the higher priesthood as an elder.
      This young man is still a priest, therefor he either had issues that prevented his progression, or, more likely, he simply dropped out of the church sometime in his teens.
      The church is all about family and fulfilling our god-assigned rolls. This persons confusion would be upsetting and disruptive to the entire congregation. We don’t however exclude people from our public meetings. (If they were to become excessively loud and rude we might escort them out, like anyone else would).
      Gender ambiguity is a challenge to say the least, but at the least you have to pick a gender and stick with it. It would this person broke faith with a young woman. (did she know his challenges up front?)
      I don’t have a problem with someone not agreeing with my faith, but at least make it an honest disagreement. Let’s not set up a bogus strawman like this article did. Christ indeed atoned for all men, if we would repent and come to him. That is the basic most tenet of the mormon church.
