Jesus Must Return Before Antichrist appears - Really? Where does it say that in the Bible?

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

For years I have heard of the Pre-tribulation Rapture of the church before a seven year period. Along with that I have been told Jesus would be rapturing the church proir to the appearance of the antichrist.

Problem is – I have never found anything in the Bible that says so.

The best one can do is this: First, throw out all rules of prophetic interpretation and then anyone can says the Bible scripture can mean just about anything…

Let me give you an example. I Corithians 15:51 and 52. Paul clearly uses the word “last” or “eschatos” which certainly and clearly defines that this last is a last wherein no other can follow. Are you with me? In other words, if this is the last trumpet to sound – no other trumpets can sound thereafter.

If I Thessolonians 4:16 and 17 is Paul writing to the Thessolonians the same message (which would make perfect sense) this trumpet sounding is one in the same trumpet.

Verse 17 says “we which are alive” Paul includes himself here by saying we – in other words, “we” are here at the sound of the “last’ trumpet.

This then means “IF” there was a seven year period, it would take place with “all” trumpets having sounded.

So, I’ll stop there and open this up to you all with this question.

Can you give me book, chapter and verse(s) that clearly states a pre-seven year tribulation period rapture of the church?

I am trying to keep this simple – please no answers without scriptural support – thanks!

Over 100 have seen this and not one response…still waiting.

The 7 years was cut short by Jesus Christ, it is now 3 1/2 years.

The great tribulation which is the 5th Seal last 2 1/2 years,

The 6th and 7th Seal which is the Wrath of God and the Day of the Lord last for one year.

At the end of the 7th Seal and at the pouring out of the 7th of the 7 Last Plagues — Christ returns, the First resurrection occurs and both Christ and the resurrected Saints of God then come to earth with their feet on the mount of Olives.

What is just ahead for America and the world is the third Seal which is food rationing then famine followed by disease.

Next is the 4th Seal which is W W 3, 25% of the world is involved in World War 3, America loses this war and as the 5th Seal which is the Great Tribulation begins – America is taken captive. Over 200,000,000 American are soon to die of famine, disease and war – the remaining 100 million go into captivity.

Thank you truthseeker – But not one mention of scripture to support all of what you said. In fact absolutely nothing to substantiate any thing you said – it reads as nothing more than an opinion.

So why do you think that? Where did you find these beliefs in the Bible? It all reads as if this was heard or read elsewhere by someone you chose to believe without ever verifying.

it’s a no brainer and a loaded question
cuz it aint there, scripture not written in the bible is proof of no scripture there.

Your point is made – I would add that with only four mentions of the word antichrist in the Bible a lot of assumptions come into play making other evil characters that Daniel and Ezekiel and John describe to be this antichrist – then somehow another assumption to it all is that a clear timeline says its so – that is, an antichrist returns after Christ returns – a seriously convoluted doctrine.

As an individual that studies the prophetic word of God, let me recommend the book
“THE SIGN of Christ’s Coming and the end of the Age” by Robert Van Kampen. The
author lays out many of the arguments between pre, mid, and post tribulation believers and then succinctly and, frankly, with much scripture in tow, lays out his belief which centers on
a rapture just prior to the the Great Day of the Lords Wrath. The first few chapters are a little boring unless you like the study of how words are used. Nonetheless, this book and others like it have recently been gaining strength due to the real application of Holy Scripture. I believe it will answer many if not all of your questions on Biblical truths concerning the coming rapture.
Good look to you and God Bless.

        sounds interesting – thanks!

I too believe that all we can read in scripture is that Jesus returns prior to the last day, great day of the Lord, Judgment day – all of which are one in the same….in fact Christ’s return most likely ushers in the the last day as one continuos event.

Unknown to me as well is whether this a prophetic day that represents a year or is a regular 24 hour day or as some others have suggested it to be 5 months… as I am not watching it from here, thank you Jesus!

You are right in that the Holy Bible does not say that Christ returns before the great tribulation. We go to him. These are not all the reference. These are only those I quickly found.
King James did not translate it to the word rapture. Many believe the story of the ten virgins refer to the rapture. There are references that the virgins are those who did not worship another god. Those who did not expect the bridegroom missed out.
Matthew 25: 11 Afterward (after the rapture?) came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. 12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. 13 Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man comes.
Notice verse 13 is not for the wise virgins. They have already left to be with the bridegroom. This is an instruction for the foolish. The Son of man will return to earth after the great tribulation. After the rapture you can still repent but you will not escape the great tribulation. The Tribulation saints will have a different reward.

There must be a rapture if Christians are kept from the tribulation.
Revelation 3:10 Because you have kept the word of my patience (long-suffering), I also will keep you from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

The hour of temptation (great tribulation) comes to all that dwell (remain) on earth. Therefore the rapture must happen before the hour of temptation.
Revelation 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that you be not partakers of her sins, and that you receive not of her plagues. 2 Esdras 16:74 Hear, O you my beloved, said the Lord: behold, the days of trouble are at hand, but I will deliver you from the same.

This says it is possible to escape the great tribulation.
Luke 21: 34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting (overindulgence), and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. 35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell (live) on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch you therefore, and pray always, that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

You can avoid the great tribulation by repenting. (Jezebel committed adultery against God by witchcraft (2 Kings 9:22).) Revelation 2:22 Behold, I will cast her (Jezebel) into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.

Good people are not on earth during the tribulation.
cah 7:2 The good man is perished (disappeared) out of the earth: and there is none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man his brother with a net.   Psalm 12:1 Help, Lord; for the Godly man cease; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.

Books outside of the accepted bible talk about it.
Enoch 63: 15 And the righteous and elect shall have risen from the earth, And ceased to be of downcast countenance. And they shall have been clothed with garments of glory,
Enoch 97:2 And in the day of the tribulation of the sinners, Your children shall mount and rise as eagles, And higher than the vultures will be your nest, And you shall ascend and enter the crevices of the earth, And the clefts of the rock for ever as coneys before the unrighteous, And the sirens shall sigh because of you and weep.

Believing the parable of the 10 virgins relates to a pre-tribulation rapture comes from the believe of the pre-trib rapture first – not the other way around…this interpretation of the 10 virgins is relatively new, as in the past 200 years.

Interpreting ‘temptation’ as ‘tribulation’ is a stretch. “dwell” and “remain” do not mean the same thing.

I am sorry but it seems to me that you really put a spin on your interpretation of scripture based on the preconceived idea of a pre-trib rapture and that I find hard to except.

What I believe you have shared is simply what has been mentioned already – those that are chosen and saved will be here until the last day – then we, the chosen will be spared from the wrath of God.
