Hope, for that matter is the bedrock of the Christian belief. We do not trust in man, nor should we. This trust, of which I speak, is the trust one would put his life and soul upon. Now we trust doctors, which in their knowledge and expertise can perform surgeries etc. We may trust our congressman to do what is right, although we are let down by our politicians many times over. The people of North Korea trust their new leader, Kim Jong Un, the son of Kim Jong il who died some time ago and he is the grandson of Kim ll Sung. For us to trust men however can be very dangerous. Men cannot save your soul! They cannot be God, although we find man doing exactly that, being God to the people. Kim Jong Un is seen by the people as such, divine! The people also saw his Father before him as a God. Recently, however this young god, Kim Jong Un, became “very drunk” when he ordered the recent execution of two aides close to his uncle Jang Song thaek, according to a story by Foxnews.2 There are power purges by such leaders as they rise in prominence and no one is safe. Of course, people in North Korea may have to see their leader as god or face death or imprisonment. It is in this uncertain world that many have no solid certain hope. However, there is a rock solid Hope in Christ Jesus; Yeshua Ha Massiach. For the Christian believer, we do hope in our God and Father, through Jesus Christ. It is a Hope that is fueled by the Spirit of God within us and nourished by the Word of God which we believe.
