The Lord has always had a remnant, they were his, a “devoted ” one unto the Lord! Once devoted, it is always so! Once taken back, it brings a curse! When anything was “devoted” unto the LORD in the Torah, whatever it was; whether of man or beast; or even his fields; it was a “Devoted thing”. The Word here is ‘cherem’, meaning something cut off, or shut up. It was known as “banning”, falling under the “vow of Banning.” This meant if you “Devoted a thing” to the LORD, it was banned from any other use.

In our Remnant study tonight, we begin here to understand the true biblical separation and meaning of a “Devoted thing”, something that is “sanctified” in the context of the Torah. We find the true biblical boundaries and meaning in this study of what it truly means to be the “Remnant”. As such, we are a “devoted thing” unto the Lord. We are not our own, we are bought with a price. The same concept here is the same concept found in the ‘Vow of Banning.’

2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.
