Twisting the Bible – Part 2 – The Holy Spirit Has Left the Building

John Little – OmegaShock.com

Someone wrote to agree with what I talked about yesterday and said:

But the tech itself is not bad; it’s the leverage

Well said, Steve – very well said. Technology isn’t the problem. WE are the problem.

(Click HERE for Part 1) – | – (Click HERE for Part 3)

All that technology has done is act as a lever to magnify the efforts of our sinful nature. Technology is the lever, and it is our hand wielding this lever.

Furthermore, I see that this lever has been used to pry us away from the Holy Spirit. We have quenched the Spirit, and that has left us vulnerable to foolish doctrines that have led some pastors to preach damnable heresy.

Twisting the Bible – Part 2 – The Holy Spirit Has Left the Building

My background is about as hardcore Independent Baptist as you can get. We were so Calvinist that even John Calvin wouldn’t have found a place in our midst.

And, those Southern Baptists?

Dangerous liberals.

We were so rigid and cold, that we were rendered useless. God stuck us off in a corner, where we couldn’t cause too much trouble, and used others for His work.

Intellectual Analysis Doesn’t Work

However, I wasn’t satisfied in my corner and about thirty years ago began reading my Bible. I had read it before, but what I had been doing was taking out my microscope and subjecting the words of God to intellectual analysis.

And, I can tell you that an intellectual analysis of the Bible will NEVER work. It will lead you off into all kinds of ideas that are not true – ideas that God did not intend for you.

Why?

The Bible Is Meant To Be READ

Because the Bible was meant to be read. You’re supposed ask God for direction, submit yourself to the Holy Spirit, and then drink in His words for YOU. Do that long enough, and the Bible will make sense.

I did that thirty years ago, and quickly ran into trouble. My soul was being laid bare, and it wasn’t a pretty sight. And, this verse kept hammering away at me:

Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.Matthew 7:20

That verse was painful to read, because I had no fruit. All that I had was intellectual knowledge – and proud of it too. (And, God HATES pride.)

Reading my Bible turned my life upside down. It opened my eyes, and I could never go back to what I was. And, years of reading the Bible, cover-to-cover, has deepened my understanding of God and His intentions – something that a library of commentaries could never have done.

The Bible Will Humble You

However, there is a ‘problem’ with depending on the Holy Spirit for guidance. It takes time, and we find ourselves having to say things like:

I don’t know

or:

I’m not sure

I’m really a lot like you. I do NOT like to say that there is something that I don’t understand, that I cannot understand. It’s a humbling experience, and I hate humbling experiences. I am, at heart, a very proud man.

Pride Is An Abomination To God

But, God hates pride, and there’s another verse that always takes a whack at me, every time I read it:

Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.Proverbs 16:5

Pride is an abomination to God, and we all are guilty of it – myself, more than most. Instead of submitting ourselves in abject humility to the Holy Spirit, we have turned our back on Him and looked to our own intellect. And, when you turn your back on the Holy Spirit…

…well, He leaves.

And, when the Holy Spirit leaves a church, heresy fills the void.

Stop The Commentaries, And Grow Up

Please, set aside your commentaries. Burn them, if you have to. They aren’t going to give you what you need, right now – because, we are in desperate need of the Holy Spirit, if we are to survive what is coming.

Now, I’m not saying that commentaries, by themselves, are bad. In fact, what I am writing here is a ‘commentary’. I also know that some of you were led to the Lord by reading a book that laid out the gospel in a way that made sense for the very first time.

Much good has come from those who have written books to help you understand the Bible. So, I get that. And, again, I fully realize that I’m writing a ‘commentary’, right now.

But, there comes a time when you need to stop being a child, and step forward into spiritual adulthood. If you need a commentary to understand the Bible, you are a child – and therefore vulnerable to heresy and the events that are descending upon us.

The Holy Spirit Has Left The Building

But, in reality, our situation is far, far worse than mere ‘spiritually stunted growth’.

When Paul was speaking to the Thessalonians about the Antichrist, he said this:

And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.2 Thessalonians 2:6-7

It is clear to me that, since the 1800s, we have denied the Holy Spirit for so long that He’s left the building. We have quenched the Holy Spirit for so long, that He’s hard to find in any church in America.

When was the last time that your pastor talked about sin?

My guess is that he has NEVER talked about sin. But, maybe you’re lucky to have a pastor talks about it often. I certainly hope so.

Mark Of The Beast Heresy

This is turning into a pulpit-pounding sermon, so let me get to the point that sent me into a fit of outrage, Friday night. It has to do with this verse:

And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.Revelation 14:11

You can parse that verse any way you like. You can look at original Greek and try to argue about conjunctions. But, it will still say the same thing:

If you take the Mark of the Beast, YOU WILL GO TO HELL.

No exceptions. Period.

If you accept it, and then remove it later… you would still go to Hell.

Why?

Because it is the act of receiving it that condemns you. It’s what the verse says.

Pastors Are Preaching This Damnable Heresy

And, there are pastors preaching that you can take the Mark of the Beast, and still be able to go to heaven. And, I am so outraged by this, that I can hardly contain myself.

The fact that a pastor would dare to say such a thing is a true abomination.

Hopefully, I’ll be able to contain my shock and outrage as we talk about this tomorrow.

Are you ready for this?

(That’s a link. Do more than just think about it.)

I read your part 3 where you rightly criticize John MacArthur. But your claims against the pre-trib Rapture are built upon false premises. Forget MacArthur and his numerous false teachings; PTR is not defined by him… or by you.

I posted a comment there but it hasn’t appeared yet, so I’ll post it here too:

You said, “So, according to the Pretribulation Rapture THEORY, since everyone takes the mark of the Beast…

…this means that everyone saved during the Tribulation has ALREADY taken the Mark of the Beast.”

This may be what MacArthur believes, but it is NOT required by the pre-trib Rapture. He is falsely representing it. The truth is that many people will be saved during the Trib. after the church is gone, and they will be martyred for not worshiping the Beast or taking the Mark. A small percentage will not be martyred, and will be the ones to repopulate the world during the Millennium. These same people are the “sheep” of the “sheep and goats” judgment Jesus talked about. The ones who treated the Jews kindly will be spared, but the ones who only did their acts of charity to non-Jews will not. This is all post-Rapture.

All who are part of the church are saints, but not all who are called saints are part of the church. There were saints before the church age, and there will be saints after it.

Here is my article refuting slander against the pre-trib Rapture: http://www.fether.net/index.php?page=refuting-slander-against-the-pre-trib-rapture/

I have a PTR article here, and I’ve been in several long threads about it as well. I’ve heard every ridiculous claim against PTR, and even after reading your so-called irrefutable article against PTR I see no proof against it, since all the claims are lies or fallacies. No need to repeat your argument here, as I’ve seen it all. But I’m sure you haven’t read my articles or heard what PTR actually teaches. The vast majority of PTR teachers are horrified that MacArthur said people could take the mark of the beast and still be saved, because it is NOT required by the teaching.

The “rapture” Prophets for PROFIT are ANTI-Christ DEATH CULTISTS. God/Jesus put you in this LIFE to learn “soul lessons”, to increase your consciousness to the point of Redemption. Hagee and his Ilk REJECT the LIFE God gave you, and dangle a “shortcut” in front of people, just as SATAN dangled Temptation in front of Jesus. Do not follow the ANTI-Christ lies of FALSE prophets. Their “shortcut” of cheating God’s lessons does NOT lead to Heaven, any more than cheating on school work teaches you the subject. Hagee, Robertson, the whole group, do NOT believe in anything except the MONEY they collect for leading their Flocks astray.

With more than 50 millions members, Christians United for Israel is a major politica force in the U.S.. Its Chairman, pastor John Haggee, declared: “The United States must join Israel in a pre-emptive military strike against Iran to fulfill God’s plan for both Israel and the West, [...] a biblically prophesied end-time confrontation with Iran, which will lead to the Rapture, Tribulation, and Second Coming of Christ”. Have you ever LOOKED at HAGEE — at best he is a glutton ….

“rapture” is actually a vicarious form of SUICIDE. “rapture” is an extremely SELF-ABSORBED way of saying “I am SO perfect” and anyone I dislike will be LEFT BEHIND to suffer(feel bad because I am gone) but I will revel in heaven.
One of the major problems America faces is a large population of religious fundamentalists who have become as fanatical in their own way as any Middle Eastern Ayatollah. At present, they are caught up in their own version of the myth of the end of the world, and hope that by working to bring it about, they’ll get to sit at the right hand of their diety and to hell with everyone else. No doubt fistfights will break out over who gets to sit closest, but that is a subject for another article.
So fervent is the belief of the mythoholics that they are ready and willing to sacrifice money, children, civil rights, freedom, even life itself (so long as it is someone else’s) to bring about the final rapture and end of the world. Never mind that the story of the Rapture appears nowhere in the Bible, but was the invention of a Civil War veteran, Cyrus Scofield. Never mind that the present-day charlatan selling this belief might be a child molester and makes money off of these fables; the seekers (and there is one born every minute) do so want to believe!
“The Incredible Scofield and His Book” written by Joseph M. Canfield, reveals the following:Cyrus Scofield is a small time politician and career criminal. In 1873, he is forced to resign his position as a District Attorney because of crooked financial transactions that include accepting bribes stealing political contributions, and securing bank notes by forging signatures. Scofield then serves jail time for forgery charges. A heavy drinker, Scofield later abandons his wife and two daughters. His wife finally divorces the drunken crook in 1883. As so many con-men do, Scofield will then claim to have “found Jesus”. He is ordained as a Minister and then claims to have a Doctor of Divinity degree, but this degree is never verified. After several mysterious trips to Europe and New York, Scofield publishes the notated reference Bible that bears his name. The added side notes in Scofield’s Bible inject a very weird “End Times” prophecy into Christianity.

The Jews have had three Temples. Their God could not even save one of them. He has a 100% failure rate.
Their God told them that they would control the land of Israel, ALWAYS.
“And the Lord was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron.” —Judges 1:19
Did he go on holidays for 1900 years from 70 AD?
In case someone tries to tell you they want to build the THIRD Temple in Jerusalem ….
So they can return to sacrificing animals …… please note, THE SMELL of BURNING FLESH is a “sweet savor” onto their “god” ……. JESUS was the FINAL SACRIFICE, any attempt to build a FOURTH Temple is ANTI-Christ.
Exodus 29:16 And thou shalt slay the ram, and thou shalt take his blood, and sprinkle it round about upon the altar.
Exodus 29:18: And thou shalt burn the whole ram upon the altar: it is a burnt offering unto the Lord: it is a sweet savour, an offering made by fire unto the Lord.
Exodus 29:20 Then wilt thou kill the ram, and take of his blood, and put it upon the tip of the right ear of Aaron, and upon the tip of the right ear of his sons, and upon the thumb of their right hand, and upon the great toe of their right foot, and sprinkle the blood upon the altar round about.
Exodus 29:21 And thou shalt take of the blood that is upon the altar, and of the anointing oil, and sprinkle it upon Aaron, and upon his garments, and upon his sons, and upon the garments of his sons with him: and he shall be hallowed, and his garments, and his sons, and his sons’ garments with him.
Exodus 29:25: An thou shalt receive them of their hands, and burn them upon the altar for a burnt offering, for a sweet savour before the Lord: it is an offering made by fire unto the Lord.

There were ALREADY THREE Temples in Jewish history:
FIRST Temple built by Solomon, for a little more then 400 years, from @ B.C. 1000 to B.C. 588. From Solomon to the Babylonian exile.
SECOND Temple Zereubbabel’s or the Temple of the Return, built with the aid of the Prophets Zechariah and Haggai, lasted nearly 500 years years, from it’s completion B.C. 515 to B.C. 20. We see by the description of Ezra 6:3 that this Temple was about one third larger then Solomon’s.
THIRD Temple Herod’s Temple lasting only @ 90 years from the tear down of Zereubbabel’s Temple in B.C. 20 to it’s destruction by Titus, August A.D. 70.
The whole area or platform was called the Temple. Solomon made it about 600 feet square, containing 12 acres. This area ,according to Josephus, was nearly doubled when Herod built the THIRD temple.

Historians say that Jerusalem, in its ‘City of David’ form, lasted a mere 73 years. In 928BC the kingdom divided into Israel and Judah, and in 597BC the Babylonians conquered the city and destroyed Solomon’s temple. The Jews recaptured it in 164BC but finally lost it to the Roman Empire in 63BC. Before the present-day conflict the Jews, in total, controlled Jerusalem for some 500 years, whereas it was subsequently ruled by Muslims for 1,277 years. Before the Jews it belonged to the Canaanites. And for nearly 90 years it was also a Christian kingdom. A lot of competing claims, then, which is probably why the UN declared it should be independently administered as an international city.

        Hi HumanBeing,

I’m glad that you disagree with John MacArthur, however that doesn’t change the inherent problems with the Pretribulation Rapture Theory, or PTRT.

I have yet to find ANYONE who can refute what I said in this article:

        http://www.omegashock.com/2014/04/28/prophecy-clock-the-rapture/

And, that’s just three points, and no one has stepped up to the challenge. I find that interesting. You have not refuted them, and wave your hand at my points as lies and fallacies – yet you do not provide proof.

For those who are interested, the above link is a part of a series that can be found here:

        http://www.omegashock.com/2014/04/26/weekend-shockcast-the-2000-year-war/

        http://www.omegashock.com/2014/05/03/weekend-shockcast-prophecy-clock-and-timeline/

Your own article twists the facts of history and the Bible.

Please, you must STOP using this PTR THEORY to keep you from preparing for disaster. I’ve proven that it isn’t Biblical, but it doesn’t seem to matter to people.

        Very strange.

        Yours in Christ,

        John Little

        • HumanBeing

John, you say my article twists the facts, but I have in fact refuted your points in my article. You may not like the answers, but I have indeed “stepped up” and refuted them. They’re very common; I’ve seen them made by many others.

Please, you must STOP slandering the PTR FACT which has exactly NOTHING to do with whether one is prepared for the sufferings of life.

Let me ask you this: Since no other generation of believers has had to face the wrath of God, why do you think this one must, especially since there is already great suffering among Christians in many parts of the world? Are you to be challenged as no others have been challenged before, to test your faith as no others have been tested, including the apostles?

          Please answer that.

        • HumanBeing

This is a test comment, since I’ve seen people put [b]bold[/bold] text in their comments and didn’t know you could do that.

      • mikesavage

        HB;
The rapture is NOT a scriptural teaching, it is a teaching of man, and therefore antichrist in nature. Satanic in origin. Stupid to proffer. Try studying an accurate translation and look for the truth of the matter and stop parroting the false teachings of religions, churches, and their glory seeking clergy.

        • HumanBeing

The Savage One is another PTR hater who proves my point about the spirit and attitude they display. It’s a waste of time to discuss scripture with people who say they’re Christians but act like the demons they accuse us of listening to. It would be a pleasant surprise if any of them could at least pretend to know what the fruit of the Spirit is, even for a few hours.

        • Crazy times

I believe Boom baby is against ALL organized religions and also the rapture whether your pre, mid, or post.

I say prove it  “The rapture is NOT a scriptural teaching”

And notice the ironic title of this article: “The Holy Spirit Has Left the Building”. One wonders how people who don’t exhibit the Spirit would even know when he left the building.

      • HumanBeing

And this! “I do NOT like to say that there is something that I don’t understand, that I cannot understand. It’s a humbling experience, and I hate humbling experiences. I am, at heart, a very proud man.”

“Well said, Steve – very well said. Technology isn’t the problem. WE are the problem.”

Eh, come again? We are not the problem, normal people want peace, normal people want EVERYONE to thrive. What we have is 99.99% of the global population enslaved to the 0.01% who have manipulated people into being their property. We are all debt/wage slaves at the mercy of the bankers and various dictating governments. They are all variations of dictatorships, even party political democracy is a dictatorship because it has a leader who dictates policies, there is no choice involved.
