WEEKEND SHOCKCAST: Disaster, Israel and Fear

Over the past few months, I’ve been hitting you with one series after another. So, you’re probably glad that I’ve given you something of a breather, this week. I’m also glad because a series is a lot more work than a bunch of individual articles. We’ll see how long this ‘breather’ lasts.

Unfortunately, this is probably the calm before a storm. The Fall seems to be the time when most banks decide to fail, and markets catch cold when investors come back from Summer break and look at their portfolios. Ebola looms on the horizon. And, let’s not forget that dim-witted monkeys are still playing with matches in the bomb factory that we call Ukraine.

So, take advantage of this calm, while you can. I don’t know how much time that we have before disaster strikes. My hope is that it will be years from now, but I can’t let my natural optimism get in the way of reality. A tsunami of disaster could arrive as soon as tomorrow.

Please. Do what you can, while you can.

WEEKEND SHOCKCAST: Disaster, Israel and Fear

So, what did we talk about this week?

This week, we talked about fear, Israel and preparing for disaster. We all need to ask ourselves what it will take for us to start preparing for disaster. And then, as we do our best, we must know that God is in control of how that disaster will affect us. Israel is at the center of the Middle East, and there are Israeli Christians at the center of that center. And, in the midst of all this, we have turned our back on Jerusalem. But, let us not fear what is coming. We only need to fear that we will not be listening when the Holy Spirit speaks.

So, let’s talk about that.

In last week’s series, I hit you with the Pre-Tribulation Rapture Lie. In the weeks and months leading up to that, I’ve taken you through a veritable chamber of horrors. And all of it was (and is) true. I’ve also talked to you about what you need to do, to protect yourself from what is coming.

Some have written me, telling me about what they are doing, and it is a HUGE relief to know that there are brothers and sisters doing everything that they can to prepare. But, that’s only some.

How about you?

I know that this is a touchy subject, and it’s pretty personal… but, the wolf is pawing at the door. It’s getting a bit late for decision-making.

TUESDAY – A Desperate Truth

I just sent out a response to an email that has changed what I was going to write today. It was from a woman that I will call Lorrie. Her husband does not – and will not – agree that there was anything to worry about. And he is dead-set against disaster preparedness. This poor woman is stuck in a situation that is beyond impossible.

Unfortunately, quite a few of you have written with similar stories, and it breaks my heart to read them. You are in situations of true desperation, and there is nothing and no one that can help, except one…

WEDNESDAY – A Word from a Young Israeli Brother

You haven’t heard me say much about Israel, because a huge threat looms over you, and I must direct my writing towards that threat. But, there are moments in time when the threat against Israel and the threat against the Body of Christ coincide.

Just as you are being lied to about what is really going on in the world, you are also being lied to about Israel, and especially Gaza. And, when the truce between Hamas and Israel runs out at 5 p.m. (EST), the war of guns and lies will begin again.

And, we have young, Christian Israelis in the Israel Defense Forces, on the sharp end of this battle. I would like to bring you a word from one such young Christian Israeli who has been fighting on the front lines.

THURSDAY – The Burdensome Stone

I ended yesterday’s article with part of a verse. The whole thing goes like this:

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. – Psalm 122:6

And, I find it interesting that fewer and fewer Christians are interested in praying for the peace of Jerusalem.

Is it any wonder that we no longer prosper?

As we draw closer and closer to the end of this age, fewer and fewer American Christians are interested in the peace of Jerusalem. And, as Christians turn their back on Jerusalem, God has turned His back on us. And, God has decreed that Jerusalem will be a weight that will destroy everyone that tries to carry it away.

FRIDAY – Fear

When your Dad is rich, you know that you will never need to worry about money. He may not always pay for everything that you want. But, you will never have to worry about what you need.

When your Dad is the God of the Universe…

…you will never need to worry about ANYTHING that you need.

Period.

Worry is just another word for fear. And yes, our Father really is the God of the Universe. And, the only thing that we need to fear is our inattention to what God is telling us.

That’s why, even with all that is going on around us, our only fear should be deafness to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
