“Sorrows”: G5604; a pang or throe [spasm of pain, effects of severe pain], especially of childbirth, pain, sorrow, travail; occurs 4 times in KJV

In Acts 2:24, in reference to the Messiah’s suffering of Christ: intolerable anguish, in reference to the dire calamities precede the advent of the Messiah. The sufferings here are sorrows, related to the end of days. They are described as sorrows and this word in the greek, G5604 is used four times in the New testament as Sorrows in Mark 13:8, as Sorrows in Matthew 24:8, as Pains in Acts 2:24, and as Travail in 1 Thessalonians 5:3.

The term sorrows begin a period of Prophecy that follows the “beginning of sorrows” as we mentioned above. So it serves to understand that Sorrows, follows the beginning of sorrows. It is a time in which people face extreme persecution in regard to affliction, death, hatred, betrayal, and where many shall be offended by this period of time. It is a time when many false prophets shall arise and deceive many. It will be a time when sin and iniquity will be so prevalent that the “Love of many shall wax cold”! These whose love will grow cold, are Christians; for the word love is agape’. The word that is found in the ‘love feasts’, found in acts. It is a dear love, one for the Savior who died for you and the other for your brethren! This section adequately describes that the church, the believer will be surrounded by so much sin and iniquity [lawlessness, sin] that it will cause believers to grow cold, they will no longer have the ‘agape’ love they once did. A love that is colder toward the Messiah who died for their sins and for the brethren in the Lord.
