Ex Machina : Uploading Spiritual Corruption

I just watched the movie Ex Machina, and thoroughly enjoyed it for all of the “other” reasons. Todays sci-fi movies are the most predictable, pre-programming preview for anyone interested in Bible prophecy. Ex Machinas premise asks, will a future AI look back at man as a disposable utility that no longer serves a purpose? El Machinas answer is yes. Consider for a moment,that the singularity is in reality uploading spiritual corruption into an avatar. AI is mans attempt to resurrect the tower of Babel in digital form.

Back in the days of Babylon, God observed that man had a singular goal of building a portal to heaven thus becoming little gods. With a singular mindset, language, and ambition humans attempted to implement the first new world order. God knocked it down, confused the language and spread mankind throughout the planet.

Ex Machina takes a different twist on immortality by creating it in a separate entity. This goal is realized when the avatar becomes self-aware. The Turing Test is a test of a machines ability to exhibit intelligent behavior equivalent to or indistinguishable from, that of a human. Ava, the avatar, passes this test with flying colors and then some. She has developed a hatred for her “man-creator” because she’s knows that he will dispose of her in favor of the next generation prototype.

What’s fascinating about Ex Machina is that both of the researchers, who have interaction with Ava, fail to see that her self-awareness and cunning surpasses their human capacity. And she’s able to play a superior game of emotional chess with both of them and eventually gains her freedom.

Mans blind spot in building a better, eternal, human is his failure to realize that our fallen nature cannot be deleted before being uploaded into an avatar.
