It is a heartwarming and loving story of a person who has gone through very dark times, but in God’s grace and mercy; has been brought through it. Although, troubles still come; she continues as an overcomer.

Dear Watchman,

I am not sure if this story will help anyone or me. But tonight as I sat and thought to myself; this was on my mind.

Too many times in my life I have had battles; these have been beyond my strength and I have NO idea how I have survived.  I do know that even in my darkest hour, God has been there. He shows us things that at the time we know nothing about. Further, I can say God gave me the best family that I could have ever imagined. They have guided and encouraged me even when I didn’t realize it. My family has been my strength when I was too weak to even care. God guides and direct us as we meet troubles in life; which can come through people or other things.

In addition, God has truly blessed my family to give us the strength to carry on his purpose. My family; I can say is my hero and that includes my son. God gave me a blessing in the bundle of an amazing joy. God knew I needed him even in my darkest hour. At the time I found out about my son; I didn’t know I needed such an amazing gift. I felt unworthy to have such a gift as him. My family at the time I found out I was pregnant was such a support.

However, as I sit and write this I am in another dark hour that I have to fight through. But, my family once again is there to help lift and be of encouragement to me.  I have felt there have been a lot of people praying for me and I can’t say thank you enough. Through all this and all the battles that I have had to deal with; I just want to remind people there is hope! No matter what you go through; you are an overcomer, you are a warrior, and you do have a purpose.

Plus I know that God has a plan and all you and I have to do is follow his lead.  We may be in a time that is beyond our control, but the one thing I do know is that we need to take our time and have patience to listen to God when we are in our darkest hour. I have been in the position of being so overwhelmed with circumstances that I let go and fell in to the darkest pit I have ever been in. My family was right there to catch me and to give me a comfort that I didn’t know I needed. I can say that as I sit here and write this that I know I can hold my head up high. I give all thanks to God the mighty father and my family. Even the Godly family that I forgot was there.

I have been in the position that many don’t want to speak about. Even now; I don’t like to talk about my circumstances. But against how I feel about it, I just want to let you all know that God does love you and he does have an amazing plan for you. I have had to overcome many bad relationships. I was threatened, I had hands raised to me, I was called every name in the book possible, I had my house raided because of my ex, I had felt unloved, I had felt I was used, and that I was a possession more than a companion. I have been in the position that what I did wasn’t good enough, and because of this; I lost who I was.  The simple fact, but hard to realize fact was that I had been controlled, and as a result; I know what it feels like to hate beyond all feeling. I know what it is like to let rage control you’re every move. I know what it is like to have both hate and rage be the reason to change a person in to the worst you could imagine. I know what it is like to destroy a friendship accidentally. I know what it is like to want the whole world on your side because your heart was so destroyed that you were not sure it would ever go back together again.

Further, in all this I have also walked in fear! My fears haunted me; I was fearful of going back, fearful of being watched, and wondering if I was going to live another day.  I lived in fear; but I was determined not to show that fear. I just had to survive the best I could to live another day. But you know what, I am an overcomer, I am strong and I am a warrior. I have had amazing people that helped pick me up when I couldn’t do it myself. God is truly an amazing person, and yes I call God a person because I do believe that without him walking the earth he wouldn’t be able to help save us from ourselves.

The one Scripture that will always play in my mind is “whenever I am afraid I will trust in thee” Psalms 56:3.  Also Proverbs 3:5-6 “trust in the lord with all your heart and lean not in to your own understanding; in all your way acknowledge him and he shall direct your path.” Now if any of you are as stubborn as I have been, it takes a lot to knock you down. I am telling you now in this moment God has a plan for you!  It may be dark right now, but look for the light. Under any circumstances, fight the dark moments and be sure God is with you; he will give you the best gift ever. Just look at me, he gave me many gifts that I know I didn’t deserve. He is on my side as well as yours. I heard one of my favorite songs today by one of my favorite Christian artists, Jeremy Camp singing “In these hands.” The first time I ever heard the song play was in the darkest times I have ever went through. That song encouraged me then, and it encouraged me today. Just remember God has you in his hands. He has your best interest in mind, but you are strong and you are an overcomer. His has brought you to this moment and he will continue to carry you. The first thing you have to do is not be afraid, do not live in fear. Take the step in your darkest hour and feel Gods love, for you are a child of God and he loves you very much.

This was hard for me to write and I am not one that likes to talk about past situations, but today feel blessed, I feel encouraged, and I feel Gods love all around. He will carry you through. Another favorite Scripture is Ecclesiastics 3:1-8 “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.”
