The ‘rumors’ of wars and other warnings spoken of in Matthew chapter 24, will be unmistakable when they come to pass. As you say Pix, there have always BEEN wars and economic trouble, famines and pestilence, but we have never seen anything like a time which is yet to come. I’m not one of the voices proclaiming that time’s imminence, as you may have noticed. There is a scriptural timeline. We’re on that timeline. The ‘Grand Finale’ (if I may be so vulgar) is not yet at the door. Is that not an answer to your question?

Which would suggest that all is as it should be. Have you considered that possibility, even before you rejected it? No. You just reject it without considering its implications. Unwise.

Our being ignorant of the future makes this possible. ‘Proving’ the Scriptural Narrative ‘wrong’ is something I believe is on the menu. Of course, that too will be a rude deception, made possible only by a popular misunderstanding of Biblical Prophecy.

This is an absolute wrong-headed conclusion. The ‘saints’ or the ‘demons’ have been known from the beginning. But they are not known by us. Therefore, we cannot pretend to be without responsibility for our individual actions, because we do not know the end from the beginning. If we choose to live our lives the way you suggest, then we were always going to do so (to be dispassionate quitters) and the results of that decision will be rewarded in the end, even as it was justly ordained from the beginning.

You give yourself way too much trouble with this concept, Pix. It simply does not mean what you keep thinking it means. In order for your suggestions to be meaningful, we would all have to be privy to knowledge about the future. And though many here in The BIN pretend access to just such knowledge, none of us has access to it in actual fact.
