A church that cannot heal or bring deliverance is like a cloud promising rain and producing nothing.

Can we imagine hearing stories about Jesus where He didn’t heal anyone? What impact would He have had without that?

Speak to the average man/woman on the street and ask them would they go to a church to get healed, to save their marraige, to rescue their children, to alleviate their poverty, to escape violence and most would laugh and say, “Don’t be ridiculous, the church doesn’t offer any of those things…!”

And they would be right.

Just take a look at some of these frightening statistics:

The level of sickness, mental illness and permanent disability among Christians exactly matches the level that can be found in the rest of society.

The level of divorce and family breakdown exactly matches the level found in the rest of society.

The level of poverty and other financial and economic hardship exactly matches that found in all other parts of society.

Add to that exposure to violence, disunity, pride, arrogance, addiction and a host of other ills and its little wonder that the world is so unimpressed by what they see.

SO WHY IS THAT?

The Bible provides some uncomfortable answers for Christians:

2 Timothy 3: (speaking about the church in our time)

1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:

2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good,

4traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,

5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

6 For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts,

Before commentators on this article start saying that this is referring to worldly people, they need to be reminded that the world has always behaved like this. This is talking about the church, here’s some more evidence…

Revelation 3 (speaking specifically to the 21st century church)

14 ”And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write,’These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God:

15 I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot.

16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.

17 Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’–and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked–

18 I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.

19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.

20Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

22 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”

We are being condemned because of our gross lack of humility,

Because we have replaced the teachings of the Bible with doctrines made up of MAN-MADE opinions and reasoning,

Because we shy away from talking about repentance,

Because we teach a different gospel to the one Jesus preached,

Because we get lost in legalism (Religious symbolism and practise) or we get lost in licentiousness (using grace as a license to do whatever we want).

We urge worldly people to repent and turn to Jesus to save our eternal soul from hell after death which is the biggest, fattest lie ever foisted onto the gospel.

Instead of preaching the marvellous Christ-centred message about the Kingdom of God. That all who enter it in this life will be healed, set free and delivered from the evil that reigns over our present world.

Jesus Christ warned that before He judges this world, He is going to judge His Church.

1 Peter 4:

17 For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?

Hi James, yeah, like your article. Powerless churches, what is that ? Because of the unnecessary SUFFERING of many saints that I have seen, simply because of powerless blowhards. ANYONE including the fallen evil angel can be a SCHOLAR in the Bible or any other book out there, BIG DEAL, who cares_anyone can do it. Someone show me all of the POWER of GOD that comes from being a SCHOLAR in the Bible ?

How stupid is this, “Peter, get out of that boat, and come to ME
out here on the waters.” Peter the SCHOLAR says, “Lordy, show me the chapter and verse of what “the bible says” or I will not.”

Yeah, and it is written that the god-of-this-world has Already been Judged.
The way some saints speak about the Evil Angel in relation to saints, they speak as though he still has any justification (outside of ‘sin’) to mess with them_the saints. He does not have any justification, he is Judged !

The Holy Spirit of Yhwshua indwelling saints, has already judged the evil angel “god” of this world. The more saints get the revelation, the more the evil angel and his trade become charred toast, and less….

( Apostle_simply someone who has been thoroughly discipled by Yhwshua, and is now discipling others unto Yhwshua. )

So, James you put this subject in the context of “churches”, course, that is what is mostly out there. There is though Yhwshua’s Way……….of apostles living their lives before disciples, so the disciples can see and observe “in the apostle” the commands of Yhwshua lived out in front of them in the apostle, not the “pastor” only a couple of time a week being on display before all of their disciples.

When there is a faithful apostle living their life in Yhwshua before those being discipled unto Yhwshua, there will behealing, deliverance, miracles ( powers), and wisdom of Father Almighty for whatever else needs to be dealt with.
