NASA Proves the Bible is True: The Missing Day
For all you scientists out there and for all the students who have had a hard time convincing these people regarding the truth of the Bible – here’s something that illustrates God’s awesome creation and shows He is still in control.
Did you know that NASA’s space programmes are busy proving that was has been called ‘myth’ in the Bible is true? Mr. Harold Hill, President of the Curtis engine Company in Baltimore, and a consultant in the space programmes, relates the following incident: “One of the most amazing things that God has for us today happened recently to our astronauts and space scientists at Green Belt, Maryland.
They were checking out the positions of the sun, moon and planets out in space where they would be 100, and 1000 years from now. We have to know this as we do not want a satellite to collide with any of these in its orbits. We have to lay out the orbits in terms of the life of the satellite and where the planets will be so the whole project will not bog down.
Computer measurements and data were run back and forth over the centuries when suddenly it came to a halt, displaying a red signal, which meant that either there was something wrong with the information fed into it, or with the results as compared to the standards.
They called in the service department to check it out, and the technicians asked what was wrong. The scientists had discovered that somewhere in space in elapsed time a day was missing. Nobody seemed able to come up with a solution to the problem. Finally one of the team, a Christian, said: “You know, when I was still in Sunday School, they spoke about the sun standing still…” While his colleagues didn’t believe him, they did not have an answer either, so they said: “Show us.” He got a Bible and opened it at the book of Joshua where they found apretty ridiculous statement for any one with ‘common sense’.
Is this not written in the book of Ja’-sher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven and hastened not to go down about a whole
day.” (Joshua 10:13).
The astronauts and scientists said: ” There is the missing day!” They checked the computers going back into the time it was written and found it, but it was not close enough. The elapsed time that was missing back in Joshua’s day was 23 hours and 20 minutes – not a whole day.
They read the Bible again and there it was: “about (approximately) a day.” These little words in the Bible were important, but they were still in trouble, because another 40 minutes were still unaccounted for, and this could mean trouble 1000 years from now.
Forty minutes had to be found because it can be multiplied many times over in orbits. As the Christian employee thought about it, he remembered somewhere in the Bible which said the sun went backwards. The scientists told him he was out of his mind, but once again they opened the Book and read these words in 2
Kings. Hezekiah, on his deathbed, was visited by the prophet, Isaiah, who told him he was not going to die. Hezekiah asked for some sign as proof. Isaiah said: “Shall the sun go forward ten degrees, or go back ten degrees?”
And Hezekiah answered: “It is a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees; nay, but let the shadow return backwards ten degrees.”
And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the Lord, and He brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz.” (2 Kings 20:9 -11). Ten degrees is exactly 40 minutes! Twenty-three hours and twenty minutes in Joshua, plus 40 minutes in 2 Kings accounted for the missing day in the universe!

There is an erratum or two on your web site. You state that on the link below, in answer to a question about a NASA scientist discovering a missing day, that it was a rumor circulating since the 1860s.

For an agency priding itself on accuracy, the question and answer was seemingly written by one with no more skill than an 11 year old. Consider: it’s been a rumor circulating since 1860 (well before the discoveries of flight, or the first commercial power plant in 1882) that a NASA scientist had discovered a missing day. And, as we know, NASA was not in existence in 1860. Close enough for government work, I suppose.
Also, if one were to check out the story carefully, they would realize that this was not forecast by the Bible, but related to events of the past that were recorded in the Bible.
In my research on the story, it seems that Harold Hill told the story that NASA scientists had heard about the rumored missing day, and sought to test the hypothesis. News stories came out in 1970 regarding the test. Mr. Hill was later unable to prove the veracity of his story, as he appeared to lack first-hand knowledge. He did tell the story to various church groups regarding the harmony between science and the Bible.
So the obvious question becomes whether NASA would be willing to test the hypothesis in a well-documented fashion that can be replicated by others? Why not remove all doubt? The two dates would be when Joshua defended Gibeon; and when the sundial moved back 10 degrees out of 180 degrees of approximate daylight time, or about 40 minutes in Hezekiah’s time.
Surely, our technology is better now than in 1970, if not the educational systems of the United States that produce FAQ writers these days.
No doubt you can find the money somewhere to dust off the computers.

This story about NASA’s space program is an old fabrications from the 90′s and gullible Christians still believe the fairy tale today. Rather go and study the bible in depth, with an honest heart, from cover to cover and in community with sincere disciples of the Messiah of Israel. Then Christians will discover the truth that has eluded them for centuries as they fell prey to the mistaken ideas and deception of ignorant Christian Bible teachers.
I suggest you study the New Testament as well as the Hebrew Bible Mica. Yes, walk on the straight and narrow way toward the Messiah and do not look back. Trust in the blood of the Lamb slain for all and meet your King.
I heard Harold Hill’s story first hand in San Diego in the early 1980s.

This would have worked in the 1500s when peolpe thought everything revolved around us, and the earth was flat. But this could only come from the mind of a middle educated south of the border type (average education is 6th grade – meaning your a third grade mind)!

And I might add that non of this would have anything to do with orbits now or anytime past or future! Orbits are the movement of objects around other much larger objects. A change in orbit has nothing to do with day or night, only spin.
And imagine the earths spin coming to a halt. The earth’s circumference is about 24,901 miles divided by 24 is ~1,037. The earth spins at ~1037 mph. Stopping spin would be catastrophic!
God is the master of space and time Dabu. If he wanted to stop time outside of earth itself, he could do so. The passage does not necessarily mean that the earth’s rotation gradually came to a halt and re-started.
You may want to study Isaiah 24 and Matthew 24 regarding what happens to the heavens and the earth in the last days.
Without FAITH, it is IMPOSSIBLE to please God. Thus, faith is a necessary condition for you to please God. Because you do NOT have faith, you CANNOT please God. You try to understand the story in Joshua with your human understanding but need to do so with spiritual understanding instead.

29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
well, if the American NASA “proved the Bible” – in fact, two biblical miracles about time and the turning of Sun and earth – “to be true” … why not go and see which other miracles that are now negated and called fantasies really happened, miracles reported by believers of other religions, miracles reported for example in the Vedas? You would find clues to believe them too, in many cases.
I said it so often here and I say it again now: the present Cultural War is not about Christianity vs other views and names of God. It is about the existence of magic, miracles, spirits and God itself.
The question asked to everyone today is:
do you wish to live in a Godless world where miracles are only made technically and thus are no longer miracles but materialistic human work – where, well, no hell is below us to create fear, but above us only sky, and evolution a mere work of coincidences, and we all alone in a cold Universe…
or do you rather wanna live in a world where, well, Demons and Hell realms are thought to exist, but where, on the other hand, you have a soul, and your dog and cat have souls, and the Oak tree out there has one, and this planet we live on has a Meta-Soul, The Mother Goddess, and where all this magical network of Souls enliving Matter is not alone or a result of coincidence but has One Creator, the Immutable Lord, Our Heavenly Father?
The second world-view, at least to me, seems both “warmer” i.e. livelier and more apt to meet all needs of our biological human nature which includes our psychological structures, and more realistic.

This story is completely retarded. Satellites go nowhere near the sun, moon or other planets, with the exception of Soho studying the sun, satellites are within Earth’s magnetic energy field and orbit Earth.
