The Supernatural Contract, Unlike Any Other - The Hal Lindsey Report (Video)

A great report from Hal, insiring hope and outlining truths. His weekly newsletter is followed by a wonderful broadcast video. Enjoy & share.

To understand God’s plan for the world, it is vital to understand what, at first, may seem like a dry subject - covenants. In the Bible, God makes two kinds of covenants with human beings – conditional and unconditional. A conditional covenant is predicated on God saying to man, “If you will.” An unconditional covenant is predicated on God saying to man, “I will.”

Conditional covenants are like the contracts we humans make among ourselves. “If you give me a certain amount of money, then I will give you a car.” God makes conditional covenants, too. He made one with Israel through Moses. In Exodus 19, He said, “If you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own possession among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine; and you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.”

Did they obey His voice and keep His covenant? No. God offered them a deal, but they didn’t fulfill their part of the bargain. Does God then have to fulfill His part? No. A conditional covenant means, “If you do this, then I’ll do that.”

But God also made unconditional covenants. In an unconditional covenant, God simply says, “I will.” Period. Once such a covenant goes into effect, there are no conditions that have to be fulfilled by human beings.

God’s covenant with Abraham – what theologians call “The Abrahamic Covenant” – is an unconditional covenant. Through the years God reiterates and expands it, but He never changes the unconditional nature of it. Indeed, He cannot change it or He would be a liar and the Bible says in Titus 1:2 and elsewhere, “God… cannot lie.”

To add other conditions later would be like moving the goal posts just as the football team is about to score a touchdown. It wouldn’t be honest. God is not tricky. He’s trustworthy. Once the covenant went into effect, nothing could change it. Later, God would reiterate the covenant and expand on it, but He never changed the nature of it, nor did He add conditions to it.

Those who claim He did, have a fundamental problem. They’re saying that God lied.

Psalm 105 says, “He has remembered His covenant forever, The word which He commanded to a thousand generations, The covenant which He made with Abraham, And His oath to Isaac. And then He confirmed it to Jacob for a statute, To Israel as an everlasting covenant, Saying, ‘To you will I give the land of Canaan As the portion of your inheritance.’”

This verse calls it a “covenant forever” and “an everlasting covenant.” If it depended on frail human beings, the Word of God could not call it “everlasting” because somewhere along the line human beings fail, as Israel proved again and again.

The Abrahamic Covenant is one of the great dividing lines of scripture. Disbelieving it won’t change God’s Word, but it will change a person in profound ways. Among other things, he won’t understand what’s going on in the world.

Because this is an unconditional covenant, it cannot end. It remains in effect today and forever. That makes it fundamental to Bible prophecy. Whatever else happens, you can bet the farm that God will keep His covenant with Abraham.

So if you want to look into the future, or have a better understanding of the present, look at the things God promised to Abraham. He expressed them in a series of direct and implied “I will” statements. “I will make you a great nation. I will bless you. I will make your name great. I will make you a blessing. I will bless those who bless you. I will curse those who curse you. Through you, I will bless all the families of the earth.”

Romans 11:1 succinctly asks and answers the most pertinent point. “Has God cast away His people? Certainly not!” That’s just one of many New Testament passages refuting “replacement theology” and affirming that God’s covenant with Abraham is still in effect.

Not only does this covenant help us understand what’s happening in the Middle East right now, it is foundational to the central meaning of all the Bible’s teaching – from the identity and purpose of Jesus, to “salvation by faith alone,” to Christ’s coming to set up a literal thousand year kingdom on earth, to Christ’s secretly snatching up all believers to heaven before the great Tribulation begins.

Hal Lindsey’s assessment of the Abrahamic covenant is basically correct. However, after many years of writing and preaching he continues to misunderstand the terms: Israel, Judah, and Jew. Yes, Jesus was a Judahite, a descendant of the tribe of Judah, and He could even be considered a Jew but the Judeans of His 1st century day were not Israelites.

Israel was the name given to Jacob by God and the name of Israel was inherited by his two sons named Ephraim and Manasseh. When the kingdom split during the kingship of Rohoboam the northern 10 tribes rightfully called themselves the nation of Israel and the southern two tribes called themselves by the ruling tribe which was Judah.

The northern 10 tribes of Israel were conquered by the Assyrians around 640 BC and most were deported around northeastern Syria where they migrated into Europe (mostly western Europe) and then into North America. The Roman army destroyed Jerusalem and the temple between 70-73 AD and scattered the Judeans into Egypt, the southern mideast, and some called the Sephardim Jews ended up in Spain.

The majority of today’s Jews are called the Ashkenazi who came from Russia and the Crimea who were originally Khazarian converted Jews and their geneology is from Japheth and not Shem – therefore they are not relatives of Abraham. Ashkenaz, Magog, Targomah, and Khazar are descendants of Japheth.

Conditional covenant is a contract for slavery. You are signing in to become a voluntary slave to the unknown demonic entity. That’s what the Jews have become.

Well done Ephraim, however I would go one step further . . .

The simple facts are that after the death of Solomon, the Kingdom of Israel was divided into two kingdoms. The Northern Kingdom – composed of ten (10) tribes, with the capital at Samaria, called “Israel,” and the Southern Kingdom – composed of only two (2) tribes (Judah & Benjamin), with the capital at Jerusalem, called “Judah.” Both of these Kingdoms went into Captivity to Babylon within a few short years of each other, due to Israel’s sins of pride and rebellion.

Contrary to what most teach and believe, the following Biblical giants could never have been “Jews.”
       ABRAHAM – was a Hebrew (racial)
       ISSAC – was a Hebrew
       JACOB – was a Hebrew
       MOSES – was a Levite (tribal)
 PAUL – was a Benjaminite and BECAME a devout and religious JEW BY CHOICE!
 JESUS – was/is The Son of God, a strict adherent of His own Divine Law, but never a JEW!

Saul was a racial Israelite, a Roman citizen – born in Tarsus and studied the “Traditions of the Elders/Fathers” (Gal 1:14) under the Pharisee, Gemaliel, in Jerusalem in his youth and became the “golden haired boy” of the controlling Jewish establishment. At this time, prior to his conversion, Saul was a vicious, Pharisaic Antichrist that persecuted the followers of “The Way” to their deaths, arresting both men and women and throwing them into prison whenever the opportunity arose. Paul wrote: “You have heard of my earlier CAREER in Judaism – how furiously I persecuted the Church of God, and made havoc of it; and how in devotion to Judaism I out-stripped many men of may own age among my people, being far more zealous than they for the TRADITION OF MY FOREFATHERS” (Gal 1:13, 14, Weymouth Translation)

Clearly while in Judaism, Saul persecuted Christians due to his intense hatred for believers, because of his total commitment to the fraternity holding to the “traditions of the fathers.” Paul at that time was a Jew BY RELIGION ONLY!
Please carefully read it again, “And profited in the Jews’ RELIGION above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.” (Gal 1:14 KJV)

When Paul became a Christian, HE CEASED BEING A “JEW” as such, simply because Pharisaism, (Judaism, Jewry) TOTALLY CONTRADICTED EVERYTHING he now stood for as an Apostle of Christ.
In fact, this very system of religious/cultish legalism called “Jewry” was something of which even Jesus Himself would NOT walk.

This is so incredibly important to understand!!!

. . . . “After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would NOT WALK IN JEWRY, BECAUSE THE JEWS SOUGHT TO KILL HIM.” (John 7:1)

These “Jews” that were determined to KILL Christ were the cosy, religious (freemasonic) boys club establishment of the Scribes and Pharisees that held considerable political power during the time of the brutal Roman occupation of Palestine, where Jesus openly condemned their status-seeking and carnal, ego-centric attitudes.

“According to the Talmud, Jesus was executed by a proper rabbinical court for idolatry, inciting other Jews to idolatry, and contempt of rabbinical authority. All classical Jewish sources which mention his execution are quite happy to take responsibility for it; in the Talmudic account the Romans are not even mentioned.” Jewish History, Jewish Religion: The Weight of Three Thousand Years by Professor Israel Shahak

The fact is that after the death of Herod the Great, (a pro-Roman, pro Pharisee/Edomite Jew descended from Esau, who tried to kill Christ when He was a child) Judea was reduced to a Roman province under a procurator. Despite the occupation however, the Pharisees were given near total autonomy in dealing with what was deemed as “religious matters.”

It was under the fifth procurator, Pontius Pilate, that Jesus Christ was crucified, by order of the Pharisees of which the Sanhedrin was the supreme ruling/decision-making body.

It was these JEWS who ordered the death of Christ. The “Jews” referred to, meant the high priests, the Sanhedrin, the scribes and the Pharisees, all of whom earned the scorn of our Lord because of the total abuse of their authority. The religious establishment saw The Lord Jesus as a threat to their power base because he was becoming popular with the people, who had several times sought to make him their king.

Hence the term “Jew” refers to the followers of this Pharisaic system of religionised law based on men’s traditions and upon generations of subjective interpretations of God’s Law/Word that ultimately became “Talmudic Judaism.” It was and still is, a powerful, influential and liberal religious sect where only a select and privileged few were invited to join. “Judaism denotes the Jewish faith in its extravagant form of blind attachment to rites and traditions, and national exclusiveness.

This must have been prevalent in the time of Christ, because of His constant exposure of their formalism and self-assumption, and because in John’s Gospel ‘the Jews’ is used as synonymous with opposers of Christ and His teachings.” (The Popular and Critical Bible Encyclopedia, Vol. II, (1901), p. 999).
