Turkey’s Erdogan Brings Mideast Peace Treaty?

We can see the makings of the Antichrist in Recep Erdogan, as the Bible shows that the Antichrist (or “Beast”) will be a peace maker and will be very wise in the beginning of his rule.

At first the Antichrist will seem to solve many of the world’s problems and he will be considered great in the eyes of most in the world. The Antichrist will help mediate a peace agreement in the Middle East, especially with Israel. As of August 15, 2016, Abbas would welcome any efforts by Turkey to mediate between Israel and the Palestinians in light of the failure so far of French and Egyptian efforts:

Turkish and Palestinian leaders reportedly to discuss situation in Gaza and ‘the recent Israeli escalation in the region’

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas is to meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan by the end of the month for talks about the situation in the Gaza Strip and a French initiative for ending the conflict with Israel.

A senior Palestinian official told the Qatar-based Al Khaleej news site that the meeting will be part of a two-week international tour by Abbas covering Egypt, Jordan, France and other “Arab, Islamic and foreign countries.”

In the two men’s first meeting since a failed coup in Turkey last month, they will discuss Palestinian internal affairs, the Israeli- and Egyptian-imposed blockade of Gaza and what the official called “the recent Israeli escalation in the region.”

Abbas, said the official, wants to develop ties with Ankara, and the visit is aimed at strengthening bilateral relations.

Also reportedly under review will be a French peace initiative, as well as Palestinian intentions to appeal to the UN Security Council and the International Criminal Court against the Israeli occupation in the West Bank.

The official indicated that Abbas would welcome any efforts by Turkey to mediate between Israel and the Palestinians in light of the failure so far of French and Egyptian efforts.

In 1517 the Ottoman Turks conquered Jerusalem and ruled the Holy City for 400 years. The Turks reigned over Jerusalem until the British General Edmund Allenby defeated them in 1917.

Modern Turkey was founded in 1923 from the Anatolian remnants of the defeated Ottoman Empire. Turkey joined the UN in 1945 and in 1952 it became a member of NATO.

Turkey has made great efforts to be perceived as a neutral power, a democracy with basically a secular government. They have tried to be a partner in peace with the United States and have done the same with Israel. This has been done in an effort to be economically sound and have not allowed religion to play a role in the political structure of the nation. However the other Islamic Countries have been dismayed by their policy.

In 1964, Turkey became an associate member of the European Community. Over the past decade, it has undertaken many reforms to strengthen its democracy and economy; it began accession membership talks with the European Union in 2005.

Note from our previous messages that with fiscal and political union, we see the current European Union as the beginnings of the imperial power of a revived Roman Empire. The geographical area of Turkey was an integral part of the Roman Empire.

The point of this history is that Turkey has always played a central role in the world, and is now in center stage in the Middle East conflict. Turkey is currently the seventeenth-largest economy in the world. Historically, when a major Islamic empire has emerged, it has been dominated by the Turks. Turkey is a stable platform in the midst of chaos. The Balkans, the Caucasus, and the Arab world to the south are all unstable. As Turkey’s power grows-and its economy and military are already the most powerful in the region-so will Turkish influence. Events are unfolding at a rapid pace:

At a joint news conference on Friday in Ankara, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and his Iranian counterpart, Mohammad Javad Zarif, vowed to keep their dialogue open “despite their differences.” They agreed to “keep closer contact” on the issue of the “territorial integrity of Syria.” DEBKAfile reports: The Turkish-Iranian statement rounded off the deal reached by Presidents Vladimir Putin and Tayyip Erdogan for three-way collaboration on the Syrian issue when they met in St. Petersburg last Tuesday. No evidence has yet been adduced of direct Gulen involvement in the coup, although much has been made of the extent of his secret network. It appears more likely that it was a pre-emptive strike by sympathetic officers acting on their own initiative ahead of an expected purge of the army by Erdogan.

But the ill-planned coup was a wonderful opportunity to purge far more widely and consolidate his control of the state. Erdogan has not found a new enthusiasm for democratic methods – his new secular allies should sup with a long spoon. Their turn will come.

Erdogan ultimatum: ‘US has to choose between Turkey & Gulen’ / RT, August 11, 2016

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has issued an ultimatum to the US, saying it must choose between Turkey and the US-based Turkish cleric Fethullah Gulen, whom Ankara believes was behind the failed July 15 coup attempt.

“Sooner or later the US will make a choice […] Either the coup-plotting terrorist FETO [Gulenist Terror Organization, term used by non-Gulenists] or the democratic country Turkey. The [US] has to make this choice,” Erdogan said in a speech in Ankara on Wednesday, as quoted by the state-run Anadolu Agency.

In an effort to bar people who fear prosecution on coup-related charges from fleeing the country, some 50,000 passports have been canceled by the Turkish authorities. Erdogan also signed a decree ordering the closure of hundreds of institutions associated with Gulen, or run directly by Hizmet, as well as some 130 media outlets. At the end of July he also promised to reinstate the death penalty in the country.

In response to these measures, Western politicians have warned Erdogan his attempts to make Turkey an EU member are doomed if the purges don’t stop.

“No country can become an EU member state if it introduces the death penalty,” EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini said. While EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker recently told broadcaster France 2 that he believes “Turkey, in its current state, is not in a position to become [an EU] member any time soon and not even over a longer period.”

Turkey responded angrily to these remarks, with Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu lashing out at the EU for its reaction to the failed coup, while adding that if the West “loses” Turkey, it will be due to its own mistakes, not due to the fact that Ankara was seeking allies elsewhere, such as Russia or China.

But perhaps the most notable development was reported today by Turkey’s Gunes newspaper, which said that as part of the discussion between Putin and Erdogan on Tuesday, the Turkish president suggested to abandon the US dollar in bilateral trade between Turkey and Russia, and instead to transact directly in lira and rubles. This would “benefit both Russia and Turkey”, Erdogan allegedly said in his August 9 meeting in St Petersburg, adding that this would relieve the lira from the USD’s upward pressure. The reason Erdogan is concerned about exchange rates is because recently Turkish inflation soared by nearly 8% Y/Y, and the recent devaluation of the TRY against the USD has only poured more oil on the fire.

Needless to say, such a bilateral agreement would further infuriate Turkey’s European “friends”, permanently halting Turkish accession into the customs union, in accordance with Austria’s recent demands, and would in turn lead to a dissolution of the refugee agreement that is still keeping millions in refugees away from Europe in general and Germany, and Merkel’s plunging popularity ratings, in particular. Which, incidentally, means that not only Erdogan, but now also Putin, holds key leverage over the career of Europe’s most important politician.

Turkey’s foreign minister has said that parliament will approve a deal to normalize ties with Israel before it goes into its summer recess later this month, the Anadolou news agency reported Thursday.

 

“I think we will finalize this work before the parliament goes into the summer recess,” Mevlut Cavusoglu was quoted as telling the state-run agency.In June, Turkey and Israel signed a deal to restore their ties which hit an all-time low after Israel intercepted a Gaza-bound Turkish vessel in 2010.

Israel had already offered compensation and an apology over the raid but with the agreement it also eased the naval blockade on the Hamas-controlled Gaza, allowing Ankara to deliver aid for Gaza residents.

Israel has lived up to our conditions. We said ‘if the conditions are fulfilled we’ll normalize ties.’ So we must implement it as soon as possible,” he added.

Only once the deal is ratified by parliament will Turkey and Israel begin the process of exchanging ambassadors to fully restore their diplomatic ties.

We do not think it is a coincidence that the predicted “season” of the Lord’s return will also be the time of great distress on the Earth due to these catastrophic political events. The Lord knows that He needs to rescue His bride at this time.
