CNN News Presidential Debate Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. Monday September 26.
Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and Republican opponent Donald Trump are set to square off tonight (Monday 9/26/2016) in their first presidential debate, amid a tightening race for the White House and a flood of new polling data.
This will the country’s first chance to see the candidates go 1-on-1 and answer questions on key issues, including immigration, health care, gun control, abortion rights and foreign policy.
WHAT TIME IS THE PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE TONIGHT? The event begins at 9 o’clock Eastern time and will run 90 minutes.
WHAT CHANNEL IS THE PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE ON? The debate will be broadcast on all the major television networks (ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, PBS, Telemundo, Univision) and cable outlets (CNBS, CNN, C-SPAN Fox News, Fox Business, MSNBC).
WHERE IS THE PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE? Clinton and Trump will share a stage at the David S. Mach Sports and Exhibition Complex at Hofstra University on Long Island, N.Y.
WHO IS THE MODERATOR OF THE DEBATE? Lester Holt, the host of NBC’s “Nightly News.”
WHO IS DEBATING TONIGHT? Only Clinton and Trump. Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson, Green Party candidate Jill Stein, and independent candidate Evan McMullin did not meet the criteria to qualify — which was essentially to be at 15 percent in recent national polls.
WHAT DO THE POLLS SAY? With 60 days to go before Election Day Nov. 8, surveys show the race between Clinton and Trump is tight. The Real Clear Politics average of polls show Clinton leading Trump by 2.5 percentage points.
WHEN IS THE NEXT PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE? There are two more presidential debates after this: Oct. 9 and Oct. 19. But before either, there is one vice presidential debate between Clinton’s running mate, U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia and Trump’s running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, on Oct. 4. – NJ.COM
