Nostradamus's Death Story (Video)

Also known as Nostradamus, Michel de Nostradame – a renowned prophet – was born on 14/12/1503 in St. Remy, Provence, France. In 1502, his family had indeed converted from Judaism to Christianity as an affecting result of persecution from the ascension of Louis XII. As soon as completing a classical education, Nostradamus studied astrology, medicine, and herbalism.

Growing up, he tended to spend a lot of his time learning languages, astronomy, astrology, and math from his grandfather – Jean.map Montpellier, a mystic. After that, he studied liberal arts at the University at Avignon. Later, after graduating from the medical school, he started a personal practice where he perfectly succeeded in treating sufferers who were infected by bubonic plague in Montpellier and several surrounding areas.

In 1534, Nostradamus got married, and began building a family. Sadly, the bubonic plague – the epidemic he had been very successful at treating in the past – took the lives of his spouse and two lovely kids. (The names of his children and wife still remain a mystery). Very distraught and chased by the Inquisition, he decided to pack his bags, and then traveled around France and Italy for the next 6 years.

In 1554, he settled down one town of Salon, France where he began a new wedlock with Anne Ponsart Gemelle – his second wife, and had with her all of the 6 children, including 3 boys and 3 girls. During this time, it was believed that he started his career as a prophet. In 1555, Nostradamus wrote his initial collection of Centuries, a set of hundred quatrains at the age of 52. Over the next years, he ideally completed a total of ten Centuries. He listed the 10 chapters of his well-known book – The Centuries – as “centuries,” though almost all of them have had nothing to do with the cycle of 100 years. Each of the chapters (or centuries) has consisted of all 100 prophetic quatrains, apart from Century VII that has had 42, for 942 incredible predictions.

This talented prophet owned the visions which he often recorded in verse when staring into flame or water late at night; and sometimes, they were truly aided by the herbal stimulants whilst sitting on the brass tripod. At that time, the final quatrains were elliptical and oblique, and often used puns, allegorical imagery, and anagrams. Most of the quatrains tend to be open to different interpretations where several of them can make no sense while others are literal and chilling descriptions of events, which give the near-specific or specific names, astrological configurations, actual dates, and sometimes geographic locations. It is indeed the quality of both specificity and vagueness that permit each of new generations to make high effort to reinterpret his work.

In fact, the intuited French seer also guessed his own death that might happen on 2/7/1566, and it was considered the end of his prophecies about the far-off scenarios on this planet. On 1/7/1566, Nostradamus offered his last prophecy to his priest. While the priest said the farewell “Until tomorrow,” he responded “You won’t find me alive at sunrise.” Surprisingly, he passed away that night.

Reportedly, when he died, his family found him lying on the floor of his room. With the belief that he was one of the wisest men sent to humanity by the God, Nostradamus was buried in the olden temple of the Mineurs Brothers from the walls of the Saint-Laurent church in France. His coffin was also sealed into the walls, yet standing up. During this moment, Caesar – one of his sons – had the epitaph composed in his honor. Without a doubt, it’s truly an epitaph befitting a wonderful man who was surely an unusual clairvoyant, a wise man, a great sear, and perhaps a very skilled prophet.

Nostradamus suffered from gout and arthritis for much of his adult life. In the last years of his life, the condition turned into edema or dropsy, where abnormal amounts of fluid accumulate beneath the skin or within cavities of the body. Without treatment, the condition resulted in congestive heart failure.
