i specifically remember,, mid 70′s, our 4 free-to-air TV channels (2, 7, 9, 10) all had totally unique news presentations, they’d present unique stories, with unique shots, interviews & narration – even when a BIG event was covered by all 4 channels, you’d get 4 different shots, 4 different interviews, 4 different narrations
it was good, you could actually build a more complete & accurate picture by watching all 4 news presentations and connecting the dots
can’t remember specifically which year they all stopped that, and started reporting exactly the same news, with exactly the same footage, narration & interviews and back then it all seemed to come from reuters
