I said similar things in the past, before I read the Bible, when I was a cynical and ignorant atheist teenager. One day, I decided to see what all the hype was about, so I took it upon myself to read what I was often quick to criticize and I haven’t looked back since. You can call me “deluded” for believing in Jesus Christ, but that is nothing more than a weak and subjective allegation. There is nothing anyone could say to a true believer in Christ that would make them feel ashamed of their belief. But, If I am so deluded, we can discuss it further and we’ll see who’s deluded.
Brother THOTH, I doubt you will get a challenge. The anti-Bible posters here have proven to be hit-and-run cowards. They won’t debate. They just say “nuh uh!” and disappear like turds in the night.

Indeed, Brother Clucker, indeed. I suspect that a lot of the anti-Bible protesters have never bothered to read the Bible. I have no problem admitting the folly of my old ways by stating that I was one of these people in the not so distant past.
In fact, some of the long term commentators on this site, like yourself, Beef and Mayhem, might even remember that I was one of these people a few years back, when I first opened my one and only account on this site. It was not so long ago. I’d be lying if I tried to suggest that the discussions I’ve had here over the years, with the commentators mentioned above, (yourself included) did not encourage me to read the Bible for myself.
Yes, some of the people here played a crucial role in encouraging me to let Christ into my life, whether they know it, or not. This is part of the reason I have a tremendous amount of respect for some of the genuine people around here, for challenging my ignorance on the subject, which encouraged me to look further into these matters on my own terms. Once I did this, coming to grips with my own ignorance on these matters was rather easy. What’s more, is that after I came to my own understanding, nobody held the ignorance of my old ways against me.
With all that said, after one reads the Bible for themselves, it’s pretty tough not to recognize the timeless wisdom contained within its pages. I find that it’s one of those few writings where every time you read it, you find yourself understanding things you might have missed the previous time.
To some, it might seem strange that one who bears the namesake of the Egyptian god of wisdom, is also a firm believer in Jesus Christ. But, the way I see it, wisdom is wisdom and a true seeker of such, must keep his mind open to all possibilities.
