Senior officials have described the coming month as “brutal,” “bad” or “really tough” – with next year’s federal budget, tax reform, repealing Obamacare and infrastructure all on Trump’s to-do list.
Jenny Beth Martin, who leads a conservative grassroots group called the Tea Party Patriots, said: “The stakes are very high in September.
“There is a lot to do in a very short period of time.”
President Trump would like all of the issues to be dealt with immediately, according to close advisers, who claim they have come under increasing pressure from the Republican leader in recent months.
There are also a range of issues that will have to be dealt with by Congress, where President Trump has little control.
