On October 28, 2017, someone calling themselves “Q” began posting a series of cryptic messages on a web forum called “4chan” in a sub-category under politics (pol) titled “Calm Before the Storm” (in reference to that mysterious Trump quote from early October). Q, aka Q-Anon, claimed to be a high-level government official

Q Decode Scroll Down. We went too deep. Attempted a pullback. Not ready. You witnessed a strength test tonight. Speech promoted here/POTUS to gauge response. Net slowed. Protections in place.

Never heard of Q Anon, or “Q” Clearance, or just plain Q? Don’t feel bad because if you’re over 50 and not exactly au fait with “message boards”, Reddit forums, and 4Chan, it’s not surprising. We old guys need to get up to speed. -Gumshoe
