the locust vision will take some effort to try to see through the eyes of John. See Rev. 9
Since a first century man had no point of reference for 21st century technology, John had to use picture images from what was familiar for him to describe his visions. An grey/green apache attack helicopter when seen from the side at a distance resembles a locust. When seen from the front, and if the pilot had his helmet & visor off, he “eye” would have in it the face of a man. The helmet & visor would look something like gold if made from anodized aluminum. With the helmet/visor off, John could see the long hair the men were wearing, “hair like women’s hair”. The pilots & crews like to paint scary red and white shark’s teeth on the front of the helicopter, “lion’s teeth”. The helicopter is made of metal, “breastplates of iron”. A group of attack helicopters flying in close formation will make an enormous roaring sound, “like the sound of chariots with many horses running into battle”. If the afterburners are on & when seen from the back, the image is that of fire in the tail.
Imagine how disturbing and bizarre it would be if you lived in the first century, and someone dropped down in front of you a wide screen TV. Then imagine the puzzled reaction if someone started showing video clips of the events of the 21st century at the time of the Tribulation. So if you can shift your thinking to think how a man of the first century would interpret the pictures and sounds showing up on a wide screen TV, some of the more difficult to interpret visions in Revelation become easier to interpret.
