If the electrical power goes out for an extended period we are talking about a grid down situation either on a regional scale or a national level. If the grid goes down there will be no electricity to pump water to the population. A person can live only 3 days without water. How is it that no one except me, notices one great danger with an EMP caused by a nuclear bomb, especially a very big one, a bomb of many megatons, maybe correspeonding to 50 to 100 megatons of the TNT. I mean the water inside the soil, ground cracks, water pipes, all kinds of water tanks, radiators and many other places. A strong EMP would cause the water to boil in a very short time due to high electric voltages and currents that generate huge amounts of heat. A strong electric current causes a strong generation of heat in eg. the steel that has always a certain electric resistance. Countless steam explosions will follow, from small ones to very strong and destructive ones. If the water pipes, radiators and tanks explode and hot steam rushes out of them, the people inside of the house, any house, would be cooked. The water includes always ions, positive and negative, that make it a conductor. But it is a resistor, too. The EMP causes very strong electric voltages and currents in the ground and soil also. Surely the water in them will boil. Even the sea will boil, if the EMP is strong enough. The exploding steam constitutes a greater death danger than the frying of the electronics. The emergency personnel surely know this also, I think, but they do not tell. The cooked people are not a problem any more, you know.
