Feast of Tabernacles: #2 of Eight Topics: The Bible’s Five Wedding Messages, Free Book Oct 13

The Bible’s Five Wedding Messages, Free Book Oct 13

  1. The Bible has five wedding messages: “One example is worth many precepts.” (Ellen White) The Exodus is the example or model for the other four wedding messages and it includes the judgment discussed previously. God ‘executed judgment’ on Egypt at Passover and took Israel to a covenant at Sinai, making them His kingdom (Exod 19:5,6) and Bride, Jer 3:14. Here it is on YouTube–
  2. Two texts by Paul support an experience like that for us. He said, “I would not have you ignorant how our fathers all passed through the sea…All those things happened to them for examples… written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.” 1Corinthians 10:1,11.
“For the day of the Lord [a natural extension of “night of the Lord” in Exod 12:42] comes as a thief in the night [God came as a thief, invisibly and took Egypt’s slaves]…for when they shall say ‘Peace & safety’ [Iran Nuclear Treaty?] sudden destruction comes.” (earthquake). 1Thes 5
  3.  Three clues in Luke’s wedding parable support the above Passover timing if we understand the Rule of 1st Use: Where a word or phrase is first found, it often has a context or meaning for end-time because Christ is the Word, the First and the Last (Rev 1:11) a consistent meaning.  Luke 12:35 says to have “loins girded,” and that is first found at Passover in Exod 12:11.
“Blessed are those servants whom their Lord finds watching. He will gird himself and make them sit to eat and serve them.” Luke 12:37. The girding Himself and making them sit to eat was what He did at the Last Supper on the eve of Passover. “Watching” means to be awake and Passover was the only night it was commanded, Exodus 12:10; Matthew 26:38-41.
Three previous wedding messages also support Passover. The cry at midnight in Matt 25:6 was first found at Passover in Exodus 12:29,30. The remnant get their city burned for treating the wedding messengers badly, Matt 22:6,7, and Titus came at Passover in 70  AD—type and antitype for Jerusalem that burned. The Exodus is the 3rd example of Passover
  4. Four of the wedding messages suggest bad news for pastors that fail to give the wedding msg. The Laodicean message is addressed to the aggelos, the messenger (pastor of the church) who is described as “blind and naked.” Rev 3:17. Naked means no wedding garment and he will be thrown out in Matt 22:13. This might seem like taking something out of context, but Luke’s wedding message is a mirror image of the Laodicean message. Both get a knock and are to open; both get a meal and ruler over all (Lk 12:44) is like “sit with Me on my throne” in Rev 3:21. Loins girded is like white raiment and lights burning is like eye salve to see. So if the pastor of the Laodicean church is spewed out, we may see the parallel of beaten with many stripes for those who knew to prepare but were not ready in Luke 12:37.
The foolish virgins go to them that sell oil (Matt 25:9,10). Pastors make their living by distilling oil from the two olive trees representing Old & New Testaments in Zechariah 4, but they are not at the wedding and those who trust them, arrive too late.
  5. Five texts that support our need to know timing.
A “You don’t know the day or hour” was spoken to disciples who didn’t need to know and each time Christ said it, He gave an example that fit a provision in their law for Passover a month later, “like a man travellng to a far country.” Matt 25:13,14. If Israelites took a long journey and couldn’t get back for Passover, they weren’t excused. They were to keep it the 2nd month as seen in Numbers 9:10,11
    B. Christ told the disciples, “It is not for you to know the times and seaons” (Acts 1:7) but Paul put himself in the end-time (1Thess 4:17) and 2 verses later said we know the times & seasons
    C. This is not “time-setting.” God is the time-setter
. Mo’ed applies to His feast days in Lev 23:44
    D. God won’t do anything without  revealing it, Amos 3:7 This includes timing, “so teach us to number our days that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom,” Ps 90:12. Wise or foolish virgins.
    E. “In the day of the Lord’s sacrifice [Passover] I will punish the king’s childen…” Zeph 1:8 was cited by Ellen White in the context of her earthquake vision at Loma Linda
